Hi everyone as I've hit 200k I heard water pump and timing belt needs replacing and all seals redone. Does anyone in Perth know where its a good and cheap place to get it done? Also I'll be replacing my spark plugs but not really sure what spark plugs I should get. I heard it varies on your power that your car is putting out? Mine stock as beside exhaust and pod filter? so what is a good size sparkplug I should get?

Thanks
Tony

Hi,

Usually on high Millage JZZ30's (or any car with a 1jz) the water pump will need replacing if it has not been replaced before. If you do get your Waterpump and timing belt replaced, it's a good idea to replace the front main at the same time if it's leaking. You can use a factory 1jz-gte pump, or you can also use a 2jz-gte pump (But not 2jz-ge pump as it wont fit)

Spark plugs, Factory ones I believe are Denso PK20 or NGK BRK6E (Correct me if I'm wrong people), with a 1.1mm gap. When you run higher boost, use nitrous etc you might need to use a different spark plug gap or heat range, but since your car is pretty much stock you won't need to worry about that. Get a set of NGK BRK6E's if your plugs need replacing as many people with Soarers/1jz's use them without a problem, Either 1.1mm or 0.8mm Gap should be fine.

You can go ahead and re-do all your seals if you wan't, But i'd only replace the cam seals and rocker cover seal which are likely to be leaking or leak in the future.
