Thread revival with 21 days to go! Who's comin' to watch the Soarer's brother kick some ass?!
I'm in the Clubman class (limited to street tyres) and we have Mark in the Open class (semi slicks allowed)... it's going to be a great show and hopefully we can send the AWD boys a big message that it's about driving skill, not computer controlled AWD R35s! ;-) |

No chance! What have they had 3 months for testing? ..you think the BIG teams are flying over here to lose? LOL!!
We have a few GREAT contenders in the Pro class but the Ford isn't one of them. On that note god damn Mark Berry has been testing/training/practicing... he will be one to watch!! |

the ford is a V8 supercar with a 1000hp XRt motor... i think now 800hp either way it out powers and out torques all the others
i think the supercar chassis has been tried and tested
if it can hook up (i doubt it can get traction) a 600hp GTR wont see where it went.
that said there is plenty of local race sedans here quicker than the V8 supercars that'd eat the awd's alive ( i forget the name of the race series) they are a few seconds a lap quicker than the supercars as they dont have the same rules limiting them, but neither does the XRt powered V8 ;) supercar |

Yeah, you've gotta compare apples with apples mate.. tyres, aero, height restrictions on the cars don't make it a level playing field.
I honestly doubt they got the REAL Supercar motor mate, but even if they did... it's going to be hard to beat a tried/tested Time Attack car. They just haven't had enough time with the car to tinker or to get to know it.
Sure you can get a RWD to perform, but we are talking WORLD time attack arena... I don't see it coming out on top! |

A Stock R35 GTR wouldn't come close.
Thats not saying the GTR is not fast but the V8's are a purpose built race car, more power, better handling less weight. |

Because no one has the right combo to be competitive. Some have the power, some the handling, and some the rest of it, but I don't think any of us have a car that would be on par.
Maybe Andrew will have, but he is constrained by sports sedan rules, unlike a lot of the time attackers.
Damien Smith would be my other bet, as his car is running some serious times, compared to other Soarers. |
