yeah, red one is the street car, and a black beat up one for track stuff.
There was supposed to be a track day on the 25th, but unfortunately it got brought forward to today(I'm away). I might get some testing time next saturday, I'm still negotiating this.
Otherwise the next proper track day is now the end of May. I'm trying to work out what I'm going to do as I have a roll cage to fit and some other plans for the track car... |

There was suppose to be a soarer with a 6 in it with a blown head gasket
The guy wasnt looking for much money for it
Do you know it or know where theres a cheep car to set up for track days

Depends if you are after a Soarer or not. I looked around importers that do non complianced 'motorsport only' importing such as Ichiban in Sydney. They often have Jap tuned/race cars for sale at cheap prices.
Otherwise look to the classifieds/ebay/forums for cheap cars. I paid $4000 for mine, and from memory there are cars on here for less.
If you don't want a Soarer in particular then head down to the track and let people know you are on the hunt. You'd be surprised what some people have in the shed because they can't be bothered advertising, or haven't decided what they are doing. |

I have a VL comodore that I have a turbo for the same as shane from nt lazer cutters bt I think a soarer would be a much better car
I dont car about the motor or box just a shell would be good if it had the interier that would be great I need some things for my street soarer
theres suppose to be one in ludmilla somewhere for cheep |

Seriously, I'd just use the VL. PArts are readily available (Nissan for the motor, •••• loads of V# model commodores for the brakes/gearbox/suspension/diffs/wheels/etc). The thing I find hard with the Soarer is that I have to do everything myself. If I had a Nissan 'S' chassis then everything is off the shelf.
But- I got a soarer as I wanted some of the interior for the road car, and had some go fast bits on the road car I could put on the track car, so I know where you are coming from. |

Yeah there is another soarer owner in me soon. My car is still in new south wales but should be up here in like 3-4 weeks. I will be on for cruses and really up for track days when i got my car. |

Hey I found a V8 soarer thats had a bingle in the front but he wants $3000.00
its in pretty bad condition what I've seen of it I really dont think its worth it

Yeah the car is a '92 GT-TL i have bought it but my grandfarther has the car now he is servicing (he is a toyota mechanic).
Car is lightly modded not sure how much has been done i know it has coilovers, slotted rotors, front mount intercooler and turbo back exhaust not sure if there is anything else.
And the guy that own high tech tuning has a soarer sitting out of the work shop i think he is selling it maybe worth an ask. |

I have been to last two meets at hidden vally no soarers there. I think that is a dark green not to sure it was a mate telling me. |

the car isn't registered so i cant drive it up without getting a NSW rego put on it i didn't see the point. |

It is all •••••• up at the moment. It was supposed to be this sunday, but they couldn't round up enough officials. I believe they are now running a Motorkhana on Saturday.
I might go down for a look, but I don't think I'll run the car. I don't have any thrash wheels that fit over my big brakes and last time I used my semi slicks it cut them up pretty bad. I might call around the wreckers and see if anyone has any 17/18 inch rims off another toyota/nissan/Ford falcon for sale on the cheap. If I can find something I'll take ot for a run to shake out the cobwebs. |

but it needs a good flush and clean

yeah the track days are really messed up right now they got one more track day this yeah before V8's then nothing till next year. Don't know when the next proper race day is buy it is in may sometime, my mate just tells me when they are like a week or so before. |

I have decided I can't be bothered messing around with the Motorkhana. The car is in the shed and I have started to fit the roll cage. I ran a 1:25.1 on an unofficial test day when it was set up for a motorkhana, and a 1:36 in the rain. I would like to get down there to improve on this time seeing as Tony List ran a 1:22 in his commodore last week (He was well behind me in the wet).
If the cage is done by 23 May then I'll run it. If not then I'll just write this year off as a wasted year. |

I'm taking my son to a dawn service, and I guess we might go down to the track for a look, but I haven't spoken to the missus to see if she has us booked in anywhere.
I am thinking I might make this my first ANZAC day (in ages) where I am not asleep/drunk by lunchtime. |

I have a build thread in the track car section. All the info is there. Also check out Andrew's sports sedan thread, about 4 pages in- it is the same cage from Wildridge Fabrications.
Hopefully it'll be done and racing on the 23rd so come down and have a good look over it. |
