I have access to a dyno, I will have to get in touch with the owner and see what sort of deals he can do for us, I think most shootouts are about $60-$80 per car??

If we were to do this I would suggest a big lead in time ie: dyno day in March or April so everyone has a chance to participate?? What do you guys & gals think?

Hey someone jumped a red light and cleaned ME up... I was being very well behaved (mostly cause it was a touch wet and that car was a bastard to drive when it was damp because I had no traction (control))

Far out, obviously your ok? How did the soarer fair?? not so god i guess? I have spoken to my mate with the dyno and he would need around 15 competitors. We could open it up to other types of cars to make up the numbers (this would make it very hard to get the best numbers though)? My mate suggested any time after late February he could host an event like this. Maybe we should try to compile a list of competitors to see how many are keen? So far we would have: James Wilson Scott Gates Christian Somerville Another mate of mine Keiran 1jz soarer I would have also four other competitors if this was opened up to all types of cars 1 with a 2jz aristo 5spd 1 with r32 GTR 1 with s5 rx7 1 with s8 rx7 With 15 competitors it would be $65 per car for a dyno shoot out.

Well I'm meh, I have an arm that's still pretty I got T-Boned at an intersection, lady said she didn't see the red light and didn't brake. Soarer has a Chassis bend of about 45 deg at the front. My (97!!!) front end was demolished (spot lights and repeaters survived somehow) Front 1/4 panels wrecked and door were jammed suck. Blower survived, but I'd be hesitant to use the motor in anything else, was a fair old whack. 3 months and I'll have my 1UZ Blown 4Runner going! |

So sad Ash! James, yeah I reckon try and get as many soarer's as possible and then last resort get others. I don't think I will pull much power, but will be good to find out!

I would have had i nice red hot go but alas im back to standard turbos due to defects. 1998 will be years away from any sort of dyno action, that is if i make up my damn mind to keep it or not.

made 220 at boost worx, getting dyno'd again next week at a different place after some overdue maintanance so see how I go. I'm expecting figures to be the same really. I hear dyno's can differ a fair bit though sometimes.

what is an intake turbine? is that one of those things to increase fuel economy and power? Did it make a noticeable difference?

The intake turbine is a little turbine that sits inside the intake piping near the throttle body, designed to twist the air into the throttlebody speeding it up, people just laugh at it, but does make a difference (not a lot) but it was from a couple of mates for my birthday a few years back and makes a nice whine sound in the cold

I would be one of them. From a technical perspective I fail to see how they give an advantage, other than slowing air flow a tiny bit like what the stock AFM's do. |

It would be a compromise between slowing air intake and the spiral effect. (if that helps) try it on then off on the dyno day...

Yeah, won't be able to see it since it's in the piping, yeah that could do, try on and off the dyno.

I would put money down that without the spiral turbine sheet metal thing would make more power.
