Hey people, on Sunday 3rd of July, I'm having a few of the guys down to my place in Geelong to work on our cars. We're probably going to tackle the BFI & so on, but if you're interested in coming (I think there may be a meetup somewhere in Melbourne beforehand) let us know.

James do you need me to bring any additional tools (files, hack saw, drill, circle cutters etc.), I'll bring what I think we may need, or could try to tow the shed

Richard, I've got a jigsaw, vice and a cordless drill. Maybe a good socket set with an extension arm and we'll be set.
I've got some leather conditioner, and some good wax to put on the car too. Those black badges look awesome. Ali Saeed has some on his car, they look quite good. Work better on a white car though.
Aiden, I think this will be fun and informative working on each others cars! Looking forward to it!

Yeah ken we can give the badge spray ago, I'll bring some fishing wire down, but I think we'll need some black silicon and three different sand paper grades, plastic primer and high gloss/matt black paint.
No dramas I bring down the socket set James.
I don't know why I'm still up at 3am but an idea poped into my head. What do you fellas think if the headlight lens was compleatly clear black edge and the internal housing colour coded to the car, just like a Z06. Think I'll be working on the headlight and Led tail light project this Uni break.

Crazy idea right? I wanna put cup holders in rear passenger arm rests and put down lights on the C pillar and maybe progress to getting some "mood" lights fitted as well. Still contemplating. I would definitely go with these mods when I get my V8 in Manual.

Was thinking the same for the rear c pillar (remindes me of the 3 series BMW).
The hid kit you got that's a good choice and they are 55w as well what k rating did you get? I think mine are 35w I'd wouldn't mind seeing how much brighter yours turn out.

Haha Richard! Yeah I got the 6000k just for shi!ts. I know 4300k is brighter but I think anything is brighter than what I got right now.
The C Pillar lights IS like the BMW and that's what I wanna do eventually so if you're interested too, then maybe we could sit down and work it out.
Oh those puddle lights look pretty awesome. It's not really considered "rice" right? Since they only work when you unlock the door. It looks pretty sweet. Are you going to do it?

LOL running/driving/day lights whatever you call it. The Mercs, BMW, Audi's have them! It is such a common site in the CBD area that's why I don't like those types of cars. My uncle has an old school Daimler V12 down stairs, I've driven it a few times but yeah the newer stuff is getting boring.
Come on Daniel, puddle lights only work when before you hop into the car and then they turn off. I wouldn't really think that would be rice lol

Exactly very VIP look, and you never know when you might step into a puddle.
I just got dog by a cop. Well kinda my own fault but traffic cops need to get a life. Okay so I know I'm not ment to be driving only got another 18days to go but it a nice day so who gives a fark. Not doing anything stupid just cruising along So this switch happy cop chucks his lights on clearly a hater on the imported vehicals. And I get slapped in the face with 2 fines one for driving without a licence and the other car being too low which I wasn't going to be stupid to tell him it's running custom air bags or it would have been bye bye to the car with a yellow sticker.
This Adam dick head cop is stalking me or something it's the 4th time his pulled me up and only this time he has manage to make $900 off my ($600 for no licence, $300 for being too low)
this car is starting to become very expensive. Grrr. The more I think about it I wish I had punch the prick in the face then kicked my self in the nuts for driving. Haha.

Hahaha! Last night I did the prep work on my center console - dash surround. It will look good, I've sanded it back with a dremel. Next up, I need finer grit sand paper and plastic primer before I spray it satin black.

Fellas I've just ran into a bit of a pickle I'll be leaving for the US on Friday, so I won't be back untill the 18th. Dan what I'll do is still meet up with you and give you the cash for the plastic, still keen to make the bfi. Sorry about this boys, bloody families you gotta love em and hate em.

I'm spewing, but I'll see if I can pick up any parts over there and pack them in, haha prob come back with a half cut as extra baggage.
You boys need anything let me know and I'll see what I can do. The trick to pass customs and tax is I think to send it as a "gift" according to some eBay sellers, I'll read into this.
I'll prob look into the halo head lights try an get them cheap, and maybe if I get some spare time go and source out some interior bits and peices.
When I was in the states recently I found it hard to locate Toyota/Lexus wreckers using the net and local phone books. The solution was to ring one of the INDEPENDENT Lexus SC300/400 mechanics (equivalent of Sports & Luxury Cars), explain you're from Australia (shows you are not a competitor) and ask them where they get their parts from. This has the added benefit of pointing you towards a place that is competitively priced. If it wasn't the mechanic wouldn't use them.

Hey Guys (not sure if this is the dash surround work your doing), Just another quick little "improvement" The plastic around the gear stick and heater controls can look quite dated, if you haven't got woodgrain. Take them off, sand them back, cover the led's and lights for the shift selectors, and re-spray with Matte Black. Not a bad look. Let me know if you want pics

Hey Eddie, I'm planning on doing something similar with the console surrounding the heater controls. I've sanded it back, and I'm painting it satin black

Yeah, it's just a process of jacking the car up, removing the front drivers side wheel, undoing some screws from the plastic inner wheel guard, and using a socket set extension to get one of the screws that holds the light in.
