Yay for Soarers
my alternator has decided to give up the ghost today.
I'm trying to get it sorted before the weekend, but yeah... all depends how the auto-sparky goes getting parts for it.
Got to take it off the car tonight and deliver it to him yet
As a result, I'm in serious doubt for the weekend
Anyone notice how this always seems to happen right before an event?  |

Ill keep em crossed for you to buddy. When I had my alternator reco-d in my 32 GTR it was about $190 or so to get it done and it was done in a day.
Well Im looking forward to meeting up with all you guys and gals this weekend. I spose I better clean my GT after the rain stops tomorrow just so it can get dirty again hahaha.
As mentioned I'm looking into a slightly alternative route to avoid the small dirt patch of roads, but no promises  |

Got the call at 8:30 this morning, its beyond repair
$430 for a new one
So yeah... one light wallet! Here's hoping he picks it up in time

wicked cruise  i had a mad time and was good to meet all of you. apart from stupidity in my part at the end which attracted a hefty fine, defect for no rear wiper, bald tyres and 6 months loss of licence. lol. but that was after the cruise... so there's no tarnish on sc cruise sheet.

Was an amazing day weather-wise
Route was brilliant, not many stoppages and some nice stretches of road to cruise along.
And the company was the best.
A great day overall... so glad that I got to make it along.
Looking forward to the pics as well, which reminds me... ooohhhhhhhhh peter!!! |

Sounds like a good day was had by all, well, almost all. Wish I coulda come, but we did see some soarers on the gold coast. I'll try to upload the pics I took while catching up with Tim, Paul, and Helen with this post. It's a classic. |

walt, if you just need to borrow one to get you by, you can use mine.
alternatively, just pop down to the wreckers and find any one that will fit the spline.
So long as there is something on there, thats all they are going to be concerned about, regardless of if its a soarer one or not |

aight cheers tim if i dont find suitable one in the meantime ill hit ya up. hid's work well with the blacked out headlight surrounds. no scatter and has a good cut off point. i'll check again when its darker.. may have to remove them for defect inspection tho... |

Walter, one tip re the HID's, best not to use the automatic headlight function with them.
If one doesnt come on when you're starting your car and you'd left your lights on, just turn your lights off and back on again and it usually starts up fine.

Hmmm , thought I had already posted on here.
Thanks for coming along on the drive boys and girls, I am glad you enjoyed the countryside and didnt mind the slightly bumpy areas and our little 4wd track to get up to the look out !
My Starlet is covered in bugs but still loved it. Keep the pictures coming guys.
Walt that is tough news about your run-in. I have no idea where that cop was sitting.... im kinda glad he didnt pull the whole pack over and start picking over all the cars.
