Hey all I'm keen on getting a few Soarers together in Melbourne CBD area for a photo shoot, video shoot, chin wag and just to kick back.
Date: 07/08/10
Time: 8:00am-9:00am (I know very early but if we want to beat the weekend traffic and this will give us time to perfect the photo shoot)
Location: Hilton Hotel South Wharf (aka: South Wharf DFO)
* 2 Convention Centre Pl South Wharf VIC 3006 *

Total Driving Distance 8.3km
Estimated Total Driving Time: 33 mins
Places and examples of places of possible photo locations:
(Sorry about the Fords)
- Fishing Pier near Channel 7
- Central Pier (Right next to the fishing pier ^)
- Westin Hotel
- The Regent Hotel, Collins Street

etc.
Anyone know of other places where there is street art/undergound car parks that have very good lighting please post them up and I'll go check it all out and take a few test shots during this week (CBF work it's over rated haha)

I went out and got a wiring diagram, + test light, I think we should be set, I might have a look into my EMV also, found a nice writeup for fixing the light source in it. |

i wish i could make it, but I start pulling the motor out on Thursday, and dont get the new motor till next week.
but good news is ill make it to the next one as ill be able to drive the soarer again, this time with a motor that actually works |

Warren just give it a good clean and buff it up, all our cars have imperfections here and there so don't worry mate.

Should get some Celsiors to come as well. I see in 2008 heaps turned out. Whats wrong these days? No one seems to be keen anymore? Is the Soarer dead to you people!? |

It's winter bro, but i get where your coming from people just geting lazy, yeah Celsiors are more than welcome to come on down be one hell of a pimp convoy and photo shoot, thinking we could also head to albert park and shoot a video there. also maybe hit the yarra bends haha nice twisties there. i'm going to go scope out some places tomorrow |

It's just a massive dent on the drivers door no dramas mate we'll position the car so we can't see it and if it shows I'll photo shop it out and throw on a wide body kit for ya haha. Nothing can't be sorted champ. |

Hakan yeah as dan said it's just the meet time i'll be there at 8 so you'll see a sexy white beast parked right in front of the Hilton. Haha. There isn't really an end time but my guess it should be till around 12-1pm. You free to stay as long as you like.
My reason for having an early meet time is becuase of the day lighting which will give us the best photo quallity.
Dan yeah mate I'll bring the buffer and my gear down.

Okay so I have just gotten back and scoped out all possible places to take photos.
The Westin and Regent Hotel, slight issue considering we are going to have multiple cars it's not going to be an ideal location unless we want to cause a grid lock in the city.
The two main things I was most concerned about was access and distance, in consideration to the members who join in on this meet won’t have to burn all their fuel.
Meeting location is the same.
1) Hilton Hotel South Wharf
2) Central Pier (Management will be in contact tomorrow, but parking attendant has given the go ahead)
3) Enterprize Road, West Melbourne (There is a large area here with train tracks and the Boltie Bridge in the background)
4) Little Latrobe Street, Melbourne (Very nice outdoor car park area with street art and cobble stone lane way behind it)
5) Australian Centre of Contemporary Arts (ACCA Building) (Cars can actually be parked right up against the building (Amazing building if you have seen it)
6) Aughite Drive (Albert Park Lake) (Right next to the pit stop and the starting line, also great place to take a video of the cars (Wanna be F1 cars) haha

7) Liardel Street, Port Melbourne (Top of Coles multi story car park has an amazing view of the city from here
8) 18 Williams Town Road (Very nice piece of road here [good for lighting up the tyres] but it has a great view of the west gate in the background
