There is a drift and drive (lapsprint) day on 19 Sep 10. They need 40 entries to make this a reality. The last one was cancelled due to lack of interest, with only 6 entries, which is a shame because closer to 20 cars came to the private test day held in lieu. There will be plenty of track time, and you will not find a more laid back event in Australia. Possibly.

Cut and paste of the regs is below. As soon as they are up on the website I'll post a link. (these were emailed to me, so I hope I'm not jumping the gun...oh well!)

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

1 . PROMOTER & SENIOR OFFICIALS

Held under the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the National Competition Rules of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd (CAMS), the Race Meeting Standing Regulations, these Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations or Bulletins that may be issued. The event shall be a club championship level race meeting.
Insurance for this event will be provided in accordance with Appendix I of the current CAMS Manual.

The promoter shall be the North Australian Motor Sports Club inc. of P.O. Box 3 7393, Winnellie, NT, 0821.
The Race Secretary shall be Gail Kroonstuiver of Ph. 0418 898 810.

The Clerk of Course, Starter, Chief Scrutineer and Flagpoint officials shall be Judges of Fact.

2 . VENUE & DATE

This meeting shall be held on 18th & 19th September 2010, at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin. Hidden Valley is a 2.9 km hot mix asphalt track and the direction of racing is anti-clockwise. The start/finish line is the Control Line for timing purposes.
The organisers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the meeting as per NCR59 of the CAMS Manual of Motorsport.
3 . EVENTS

The following events will be held at this meeting:
Commodore Cup, Improved Production and HQ Holden Sprint sessions
20 minute open practice sessions as per these regulations.
Competitors will start at 5-second (approx) intervals.
The maximum number of cars on track will be limited to 12

Lap Sprint Sessions
30 minute on-track sessions. Number and timing of sessions will depend on number of entrants on the day.
Competitors will start at 5-second (approx) intervals.
The maximum number of cars on track in a single event will be limited to 12. Cars will be divided into 2 or 3 equally divided sessions where entry numbers are more than 12.






• Drift Sessions

4 x 20 minute Drift sessions. Sessions may be broken up into two 10 minute sessions if there are enough beginners and advanced drifters entered on the day. Number of sessions will depend on the number of entrants on the day.

Organisers reserve the right to vary the program of events.

Passengers in vehicles will be allowed at the sole discretion of the Clerk Of Course and Steward/s.


4 . ENTRIES

Entries for all categories including Lap sprint open upon publication of these Regulations. Entries for all classes close 5pm Friday 10th September 2010. NO LATE ENTRIES will be accepted. Entries must be lodged on the entry form with ALL DETAILS completed or entry may not be accepted. Entries can be mailed to P.O. Box 38455, Winnellie NT 0821 or hand delivered to the Race Secretary C\- Jakes Steel & Welding, 14 Nebo Road, Hudson Creek. Event Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry in accordance with NCR 83 of the current CAMS Manual.

Entries may be lodged electronically (with proof of payment) once fees have been deposited into the NAMSC Bank Account. Entries should be sent to

5 . ENTRY FEE

The entry fee for all classes shall be:¬

Current NAMSC Members with CAMS Licence……………...…………...….. $44.00

Non NAMSC Members (includes day Membership and Licence)………..……$77.00

Entry fees for Race, Lap sprint and Drifting must accompany your entry.
Payment for entry/s can be made by direct bank deposit. For ease of identification of payments, please enter your Full Name and “Drift” or “LS” to help identify payments.

6. SCRUTINY

Scrutiny shall take place on Sunday 19th September from 8am until 10am in pit bay Pit bay 26, with document checking and scrutiny sheet issue being done in Pit bay 25. All vehicles (including drivers apparel) MUST be presented to the Scrutineers prior to going onto the track for the first time during the meeting, and at any other time as the Chief Scrutineer may direct. Any vehicle involved in a racing incident MUST be presented to scrutineers before taking any further part in the event.

Document checking (CAMS Licence, CAMS affiliated club Membership card, and Vehicle Log book) must be presented at Scrutiny. Failure to produce documents will result in your entry not being accepted.

Advertising on vehicles is permitted in accordance with Schedule K of the CAMS Manual of Motorsport.

7. MEMBERSHIP & INSURANCE

Competitors in all classes except Lapsprint must be Full Members of the North Australian Motor Sports Club Inc. or other CAMS affiliated club.
Competitors can obtain one day membership and CAMS licence on the day

In addition to the above, Drift participants must be members of Top End Drift Association (TEDA)
Drift participants can obtain a one day TEDA membership if required, at a cost of $15.00

All competitors must hold a CAMS competition Licence for their specific category. Personal Accident Insurance is included in the cost of a CAMS Licence, Public Liability is extended to the event through issue of a CAMS permit. Single day licences are upgradeable to Level 2 Speed Licence.

8. PRACTICE

Private practice prior to the event can be booked by calling the Hidden Valley management office on 89471471 between 8:00am and 4:00pm Mon - Fri., then by contacting a member of the NAMSC committee who must be in attendance for all Private Practice. 1 weeks notice is required for ALL private practice.

9. START PROCEEDURE

All Sessions except drift
Prior to their event, drivers should make their way to the Marshalling area. Officials will advise drivers when they are able to make their way onto the track. It is expected that all drivers start with an observation lap to familiarize themselves with the track. Once the observation lap is complete, drivers may continue to lap at speed in a safe manner. There will be no overtaking through corners and on the main straight. Vehicles may only overtake on straight sections of the track between turn 1 and turn 10 and only when it is safe to do so. Flag marshals will report any behavior they deem to be unsafe. The Clerk of Course maintains the right to exclude any driver from a session or the event should it be felt they breach these conditions.

The session will be finished by the waving of a chequered flag at the starters’ podium. Cars are required to make their way back to Pit Entry and Pit Lane after passing the Chequered Flag.

Drift Sessions:
Drivers are free to make their way to the Marshalling area prior to their event. On the instruction of an official, cars will leave the marshalling area and make their way to a nominated start position located at approximately Turn 3 from which drift activities can start.

All drifting must cease by Turn 9 (for beginners) and Turn 11 (for experienced drivers) and cars may then continue around the track for another run or enter the pit lane. Once cars pass the Chequered Flag, they are required to make their way back to Pit Entry and Pit Lane.

Drivers are free to make their way to the Marshalling area as soon as they are ready again.

1 0. GRID POSITIONS

Start positions for all classes except drift will be at the starters discretion.
1 2. TIMING

This is a non timed, non pointscore event. NO LAP TIMES WILL BE RECORDED.

1 3. FUEL

Fuel will be NOT be available at the circuit. Fuel must comply with Schedule G of the CAMS Manual.

1 4. PITS & OTHER RESTRICTED AREAS

All crew associated with an entry must sign the appropriate Pit Lane indemnity and wear a wrist tag.
Smoking is not permitted in the Pit Garages and Pit Lane area during the meeting.
No person shall enter the Pit area/Pit lane without wearing the appropriate clothing and footwear.
No persons under the age of 10 years will be allowed in the Pit area without proper supervision
PENALTIES MAY BE AWARDED TO A DRIVER, WHERE MEMBERS OF HIS TEAM OR PERSONS IN HIS PIT DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE.

The maximum permitted speed in Pit lane is 40 kph.
Note: Pit Lane Speed WILL BE MONITORED by RADAR SPEED GUN.

All vehicles in Pit lane must travel in race direction with the exception of being driven into and out of pit bays.
Organisers reserve the right to remove any person from the Pit Lane at their discretion.
Trailers or unloading of racecars is not permitted in Pit lane.

Pit garages are available to hire on a daily or season basis. Bookings can be made by nominating on the Entry form or contacting the race Secretary prior to the meeting or at scrutiny. Pit garages will be allocated on a ‘First come, first served’ basis where no booking has been made.
Cost will be $20.00 per half garage per day (incl. GST)

1 5. OFFICIALS BRIEFING

A briefing for all officials will be held at approximately 9:30am at the rear of the control tower on Sunday morning.

1 6. DRIVERS BRIEFING

A compulsory drivers briefing for all competitors will be held at approximately 10:15am at the rear of the Control tower on Sunday morning. Failure to attend may result in exclusion from the race meeting. All Drivers must sign in at this Briefing to confirm attendance.

1 7. OH&S

This meeting is covered by the CAMS OH&S policy. Each competitor and crew should make themselves aware of the policy and are responsible for compliance with this policy with respect to their race team, crew and equipment. A copy of the Policy is available on the CAMS website at www.cams.com.au, or may be viewed in Race Control at this meeting.

CAMS considers safety to be a joint responsibility which must be shared by all its stakeholders. CAMS expects that all employees, stakeholders and visitors to its permanent workplaces and the temporary environment created by the events and activities which it sanctions, will comply with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation and CAMS safety policies and procedures, and at all times protect the health, safety and welfare of themselves, of those with whom they work, event patrons and the community.

1 8. GENERAL

It is recommended that all competitors wear a “horseshoe” style neck brace to provide added protection during an accident .

WRIST BANDS ARE BEING ISSUED TO EVERY DRIVER ON RACE DAY AND MUST BE COLLECTED PRIOR TO THE TRACK SESSIONS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR WRIST BAND AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE AT THE CIRCUIT AND BEFORE YOU GO ONTO THE TRACK TO SHOW YOU ARE AN INSURED COMPETITORS. DRIVERS PRESENTING TO PIT EXIT WITHOUT A WRIST BAND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ONTO THE TRACK.

Competitors are reminded of NCR Part XII regarding protests.

1 9. DANGEROUS DRIVERS AND CARS

Entrants/competitors are reminded of the Code of Driving Conduct as set out in the CAMS Manual of Motorsport.

DANGEROUS DRIVERS AND CARS: The Promoter reserves the right to exclude either before or during the event any driver or car which they consider to be unsuitable or unsafe, for any reason.

20. ANTI DOPING POLICY

During any event, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the paddock, pits or any other portion of the competition venue under the control of the officials is expressly forbidden until all practice or competition activity is concluded for each day. Any driver or crew member who is found to be affected by alcohol on the day of the event or practice therefore shall not be permitted to participate. Refer NCR 145A of the Current CAMS Manual.
In addition, the persons concerned will be subject to the Articles of the Procedure for Alcohol Testing and CAMS Drugs in Sport Policy. Competitors, crews or officials may be tested for alcohol or other drugs at any time during the event(s).
