At the last one they did, they used wideband o2 sensors in the exhaust and I would think they would do it again as they don’t want to run anyone lean.
AFAIK it is quite difficult to use 3rd gear in the autos as it wants to kickdown. They will be using 3rd in my car though as it is fully manualised now

Well I hate to say it but I think I am a maybe now. Went for a drive last night and fixed oil leak on oil return line but there was a fair bit of smoke coming out the back and it is basically running like ••••• Stalling, running very lean just cruising, missing slightly when held at stable rpms. Will be doing compression test and changing to bkr7e plugs tonight. It is a pain in the ass though. Still not wired up to do ignition as I haven’t been mobile.
