If anyone from Adelaide is seriously thinking about going, can't you please shoot me an email?. Neil has some parts that I'd like to get, and suggested that I harass one of you guys for some possible transport on the cheap. If one of you could find it in your heart to help out a poor disadavantaged Soarer owner, let me know! Thanks

Just want to get some idea when people are considering leaving (driving over) for this event Thursday or Friday?? I have work commitments over Easter so am not sure if I am even going yet but I will be calling in a few "favours" to try and arrange the time off. Can anyone who is going post up when they are considering leaving so we can arrange a drive over if anyone is interested.

Oh forgot to mention "accommodation" what is every ones preference? Rough it in the shed with a swag, a cabin or 2,3 or 4 star?

Some cabins have been organised. http://soarercentral.com/cgi-bin/sc-forum/show.cgi?tpc=287&post=76891#POST76891 Should be good as we have a bunch of cabins reserved, but get in fast as I don't know how long they will hold them.

Beauty! Have booked one so I'll see you Easterners there! Are you still leaving friday morning Peter? I think it'll be a good idea if we go in a group with some UHF radios.

Yes, for Friday morning, haven't settled on a time yet and I also have 2 40 channel hand held CB's, never really used them yet though.

The nearest direct route is to follow the Sturt Highway, ie. Main Noth Road, Riverland, Mildura, Hay, Narrandara, Wagga, and then turn off onto the Barton Highway. Follow the Barton Highway to the end and turn right onto the Federal Highway/Northbourne Avenue which will take you straight into Civic. Otherwise, you can do the same thing but via Murrayville and then up to Mildura and follow the Sturt and Barton Highways the rest of the way. If you wanted to avoid the Hay Plain, you could always cut across Victoria to the Hume Highway and drive up that through Albury/Wodonga, and then on to the Barton Highway past Yass (sorry, I forgot to mention above that the Sturt Highway turns into the Hume Highway, but you don't have any choice but to continue along the Hume). This is the longer option, but much more scenic

I looked it up using Travelmate.com.au and got something like - freeway, Tailem Bend, Banitya, Hay South, Wagga Wagga, etc. Might depend which end of Adelaide you start from. They quote 1175km's to Queanbayen, 14hours, 18 minutes. As it's a long drive, I think shorter will be more value that scenic.

Just checked, from eg Elizabeth they suggest your Sturt Highway route. 1178kms. So the difference it most likely the hour crossing Adelaide. What suburb will you be leaving from? Is Craig still in?

Leaving from Oaklands Park. So probably the freeway would be best. We can always meet at the base of the freeway somewhere.
