Drew giving the temp up here and giving your car a hard time down the 1/4 i would be looking at BKR7's mate and a slightly smaller gap possibly around .8 -.9 then if you still have a miss fire up top start saving for some new coil packs. what boost are you running?

my boost gauge says 10psi and I wouldn't doubt it. I have no boost controller and only have the mods as listed above

Drew ; well mate with only 10psi and the first time on the strip mate you are doing great. just do some more mods before you go out again and check your progress in you times that way you can tell what mods you have done and were it is helping your times. Mate i recon that you will get more acurate results on the track than on any dyno

thanks Lew! yeah i feel that if i could have got some better traction and didnt red light the last run i would have got a 12... i turned the boost up to about 18psi, but that gave me wheel spin Drew, you did well mate! I only got a 13.6 and theres been about 30grand spent on my soarer...

Drew: for reference you are trapping the same as Niles in the vvti 1jz mx83 and he ran 13.8 so if you can get it off the line any quicker, (lower tyre pressures helps and maximum weight transfer) then you can go 13's. ben: The 60ft on the 2nd run was pretty decent. You saying that was only at 14psi? Are you making any boost off the line? For what its worth your car actually looks like you are trying to launch unlike mine :P The trap speed does seem low though. Did you hear anything strange? Did you wind it out all the way to the second line? (trap speed is average between the 2 lines)

Well was an alright night i guess... apart from only getting one run in For those that dont know, i ran 13.8 @ 109.89 Mph... I was expecting alot better than this but a bad launch and lack of traction held me back. I was happy with the MPH and i think this should see me in the 12's when / if i stall it up and when i get more power to the ground

On the 1st run i backed off a bit too soon, i thought the finish was closer then it was... On the 2nd run i manually changed gears which seemed to be quicker than leaving it in D as i could change closer to redline... Though i had a issue getting it into 3rd gear, it was like it tried to engage the lock-up and didnt want to....i recon i lost a few tenths there. If i go down again, i want to pull out all the extra weight. The sub box weighs heaps, over 30kg easy. Then it has the twin 12inch subs + the insulation and then the airtank with 2x air compressors, the solenoids, and heaps of wiring. I also still had the jack, spare wheel and half a tank of fuel, so she would have weighed over 100kg more than it should have been. Next time i spose.

The thing is a number is just a number on the computer screen but when you are actually out there it isn’t as easy as it seems hey! Everything has to be working correctly (including the driver) to make a good run Practice makes perfect. I want to go out there with my car tuned but still running stock stally and run some more 2.5 60ft’s and see if I can go low 13’s high 12’s at 15psi. I ran 15psi with the wolf and stock ecu in limp mode to run the 13.7 so hopefully with a fully functioning ignition system I can improve on that. Then after that, install stally and do shift kit and go back again and will up the boost to 20psi or so.

Hey Chris, I came searching for you but couldnt find you. I spoke to one of they guys with the 1j powered cresida that ran infront of me. He told me you were in the stands filming. I went looking but couldnt find you. Can you get that footage off the tape and get it on your PC? I would love to see my run. I was actually side by side with the forrester for a while until i got traction and hit boost. My mate in his RX3 ran pretty On his first run he went for a big launch, but his clutch slipped and he was in 4th gear by the end of the 60ft. I guess the extra stress on the car must have been alot as he put a mini spool in and locked the diff and ran a set of slicks. His second run, he took off slowly and built it up and ran a low 13 at 118mph. When he gets the clutch sorted out he is going to boost it from 10psi to 25 and run it on c16.. that should see that car in the 10's.

yeah, will be getting the footage onto the pc and then uploaded in the next few days. Have to work on my car tonight I think I got your mates cars as well but will have to check. The guy you talked to was probably Phil with the white jzx83 I would say. He is on this site also but mainly toymods.

I seriously cannot wait to get back out there! Its a different kind of thrill (imho) racing out there, compared with racing on the street Its just a shame the track is a 2.5hr drive at highway speeds from where I am :/ Ben: thanks for teh kind words

hey chris sorry i didn't make it but did ian still turn up? i haven't spoken to him yet so i don't know if he went. With the 2800rpm stally i've only had 2 runs but i've got a best of a 2.3 60ft time and a 13.8 @ 104mph, so with more practise and a 2.1 or 2.0 60ft i should be low 13's maybe a 12 if i'm really lucky :p

Nope, Ian wasn't there. There was only about 10 people racing. But I sort of expect that. Last time there were about 15 people organised to come and there were ZERO that turned up.

Too much NOS i suspect! |

Good work there Chris im still scratching my head as to why my car is so slow but hey i will work it out hehe. Nice work by the cressidia boys, was talking to them in the staging lanes, he told me about the 3/4 track burnout/drag but i didn't believe it haha.

Drew: it is all in the launch! And practice makes perfect. If you have stock suspension and decent tyres you should be able to launch well and get down to about 2.0 60 foot. For every .1 taken off the 60 theoretically means .2 in the 1/4. So you could drop your et by .54 just by getting it off the line better. The other thing that will drop your times considerably is a shift kit if you don't already have one.

ah yeah i heard that with the 60ft, makes a massive difference! On the day i was launching at 2k and flooring it, i didn't feel any wheel spin but its possible I guess. Onto the shift kit, I thought this box had a shift kit but now i'm not so sure, I just think my old gearbox was just that damn bad it feels like it haha
