I would like to suggest that the guys coming from Brisbane take exit 34 off the highway and make your way to Tamborine which is the village at the bottom of the mountain and from there to Tamborine Mountain as it is a much more interesting drive. Check your refidex. If there is anything that needs to be arranged here on the mountain, I can do that if required. I'll see you here when I know your chosen venue. There is also a little known drive up from Canungra that is a real hoot. Not so much fun driving down however.

James, as you get to Tamborine village (not particularly apparent as you will only come to a 'T' intersection) and turn left towards Tamborine Mountain you will see just down that road a few hundred meters a large pub called the Bearded Dragon on the left. You could probably meet there in the car park before your drive up. As for anyone coming from the coast, I think the best drive up would be the one which comes off the road from Nerang and heads towards Canungra. Just before Canungra (about one kilometre) on the right is a great road up to the mountain. Then maybe just meet at a point up there.

James, what I realise I omitted was to say that when you find your way down the back way after you used exit 34 you will end up in Tamborine village (this is not Tamborine mountain) and is still in the low country. From there (or the pub)if you choose to meet others there, you will soon begin the assent up to Tamborine Mountain. It is well sign posted so you shouldn't have any problems finding your way.

Bearded Dragon at 10.00 sound O.K.? I'm thinking that driving round to Canungra and then up the Mountain from there would be a more interesting drive. Not that the initial one is boring, but I think people would like the other way better.

I dont know how long it will take for us to get down there but i dont think it would be more than an hour or so. * i have no idea*
But if you want to fire me your number Mike i can give you and Lew a buzz when we are passing the Southport Exit or so... would that give you enough time? Otherwise 10 sounds fine but we may get there a lil earlier.
Regarding the route - Sounds good mate, you know the roads best so whatever you think would be tops, we will do it that way.

James if you are exiting at 34 you won't be anywhere near the Southport exit when you get to Tamborine village. I will map out the route to make it easy. Exit 34 onto roundabout, turn left after passing under freeway, get into right lane so as to turn right at traffic lights. Stay on that road until you come to the Beenleigh-Beaudesert road (route 92) at a roundabout and turn right. This eventually takes you to the 'T' intersection where you turn left and see the Bearded Dragon pub on your left a few hundred metres down that road. I will be there before 10am in any case. As for Lew or anyone else coming from the coast, I think this could be out of their way and they could be better off to meet us at the turnoff near Canungra as I explained earlier, say at 10.20-10.30am. My home phone is 5545 0118. You can phone pretty much any time. Cheers.
