If we don't get a decent list of people, there is no point going. I know I wont be.
It's funny. 99% of the people who attend Victorian cruises drive TT's, yet they all seem to vanish when a Calder park thread pops up, completely vanish.

Same thing happens on Circuit Trackdays mate
Plenty of Big Men out there ready to risk life and limb on the street where there's kids and lightpoles and dogs and other cars to hit; not mention COPPERS ..... .... but they wont take the 'risk' where there are no dangers (very little) of hurting anyone else but themselves or their car !!!!
I don't understand it at all - **sigh**
.... anyway - I wanna go along just to see what the MARLEW Special can do down the quarter. I just can't let loose on the street for more than a coupla seconds - its just TOO MUCH POWER

Rob, I don't know about other TT boys, but with me, I am only into corners/side G forces. Drag racing is too boring and not as skill dependant as drifting or track racing...
Picture this: you are now at the strip, staging, then stall up to 3000 or XXX rpm, let go brakes when green, keep flooring the gas and aim straight till the line....the boy with the biggest wallet wins! Boring, no considerations for: driving lines for single/multi corners, when/how/how much to sway if you are drifting, braking point, braking force/length/style(trail braking, brake drift etc), cornering speed/angle or vehicle angle vs. line angle vs. vehicle speed if you are drifting, exit throttle/steering management if you are drifting, especially with "Dynamic Style Entry and Exit", gear change management eg. lagging in 3rd through chicanes or hairpins instead of constantly on/off the gas in 2nd, comp lock if drifting etc, etc.
If you are into the great inertia impact, of course dragging is a great and a simple way to get satisfied, but that is not my cup of tea.
Juzza, If I have more money and another manual TT for track use, I'd love to go to PI or Winton for either racing or drifting, but I can't justify racing my everyday car. I need it for work. Reliability is the key.
When you go to PI, of course you are going to *race* not cruise right? Otherwise with the $500 or however much you paid would not worth much for that day, yeah? Hence I stay away from track coz I know I will thrash it to make the most out of it(the day and the car). But I just wouldn't dare to do that to my everyday car.

Freeman - i agree with what your saying, i love to do all of it,but since i have a custom front bar i cant see the point on taken risk like drift and track work to smash it up if something go wrong, and of course i can do that dragging as well but i love speed so that's why prefer I drags. But i would do anything for a thrill!

Hey Freeman... Have you put your car over the Quarter mile? Its amazing how many people think it is so easy to extract fast times from fast cars! And the others, Just think their car is too slow and dont want people to really see that They either Cant drive, or have spent WAY too much money on mods that cant get the times they have Paid for!....
I can understand your theories on track and drifting(i use to hill climb my falcon, it was awsome fun) . And yes, Why would someone like Joshua wanna have a go at drifting only to break his nice front bar!
Like you said brother, Each to their own, But unless you can show me some Fast times for the Quarter Mile and a list of your Mods, AND then we can all see that the HP your making is Pretty Spot on to what your car SHOULD run in a perfect world.... Then ya cant say Drag racing is boring and an Easy thing to do!
Its easy to Smoke the tyres and make a flat 13 second car run in the 15's, but at the end of the night, If you have a nice powerful car with some $$$ spen in mods, going home with a 15 second timeslip, then you will look bad to all your peers, as you couldnt cut the mustard over the Quarter! Like i Say(and i have been over the quarter in all my cars since i was 17) " When the green light drops, All the Bullshit Stops". And then you see the truth. So many guys say " Oh yeah Bro, Its got Big turbo, FMIC, Lotsa Boost, Custom Box, Rear gears, Fuel and ECU, Should run 11's..." And it runs a best of 13.1. Then all the excuses from the sun come out. Its all in the numbers with Drag racing, The same it is with Angles/Speed/Gears/Boost/Handbrakes with drifintg and circuit. Each to their own.
I love watching the drifting, And if my TT wasnt my everyday driver, i would probably have a go. but it is, so i wont.
Oh and its not always the Biggest Wallet wins! There are a few guys out there to prove that wrong, hehe!

Daniel, I have no interest in dragging, so I don't bother putting it on the strip. I know with my mods (not much at all), high 13's is the best, and I don't care if I run slower than that, coz that is not my field of interest in motor sport.
Click on my profile to see the list of my mods if you like, i listed everything.

I'm sure you wont object Juzza.
