Hey guys
Sorry for such a random question but I guess you are the best people to ask. I am a little bit confused about something.
I am thinking about brining in some electricals from Asia (non car related) but I am a bit confused. The price says it includes tax and shipping but I am assuming this is the tax from their country. Right?
Also how do you pay import duty. Does the item get seized (I am not making myself look good LoL, Almost seems like I am importing drugs). I am not actually importing am I? I am just buying products from overseas. So do these carry import tax or some sort of tariffs.
Also say instead of brining in 1 item you bring in say 6 (you get one and you have 5 mates that want the some thing).
Will this make the product more suspect and also is it taxed more heavily (if at all) compared to delivering it individually?

I cant answer all your questions off hand but I can tell you your import duty willl be included on the same invoice as your shipping but as 1 total. But if what your buying already includes this then what are you worrying about ? As for the Tax... well, you pay Tax on almost everything in this country if not everything.

I use an import/export agent Victory International. These guys organise the clearance through customs and the payment of all the applicable taxes etc. Also will arrange freight to your location from the port.
