15000rpm? What, is he either running Honda's F1 engine, or a worked motorbike engine?!?

Or smoking some good

Lol, even at 15000rpm, wouldn't pull as hard as a Turbo at 6000rpm :-)

Haha Rubbish! tell him to buy a real car and stop talking his "15,000rpm one" up!!

Generally as most know the more popular Hoondas have to rev their guts out to go anywhere as all there power/torque is around 6500-8000rpm

Bugger having to drive a car with that kinda power band... Fortunately my old 5 cylinder Rafaga wasn't to bad made max torque (190nm) at 4000rpm :-) Still I much prefer having 90% of my big wad of torque at 2000rpm!

Check out the rev counter in his car and see what it goes up to and if it goes up that far ask for a demo but don't forget to wear some ear protection and stand out side looking in because you may need to run like hell.

He has quite obviously wired his monster tacho up wrongly because its reading precisely double the RPM... Tell him to set it to 4 cylinder mode!

yeah yang he ain't bullshitting you. I know the guy. His dad operates a tofu shop and used to be an ex racer. I think his dad put a racing engine into his car so that he can do mega drifts around mount dandenong in his super sleeper of a car.

Yang, that motor actually sounds like it is a bit down on RPM. The EK9 is capable of 17,500rpm under most circumstances. Your mate definitely should take it to a mechanic and get it checked out.

As it a VTEC? If not install a VTEC into it. A VTEC solves most problems with these engines.

I usually slept through most of it... what was it called Project D or Evolution D or something ending with a D? Basically the same show every episode where hero is challenged to an illegal highway race by someone with a supposedly unbeatable car, but hero somehow manages to overcome and win at the last second, learning something about himself at the same time... kinda like Pokemon but with cars and sex...

Great series once you get into it, unless you watched the butchered American version then it just really sucks. I'm not even going to begin my rant on that one...

Nah, the guy who had the series was such a fanatic he wouldn't even let us watch any dub over versions of anything so we always had to read subtitles. Usually I'd get halfway thru Gundam Wing or Serial Experiment Lane and my eyes would glaze over and I'd fall asleep. The guys would wake me in the early hours of the morning so I could drive them home, or earlier if I started snoring, and I'd get the abridged version of what happened.

Ah, tales of a misspent youth...
