I was posted this link by a friend who is a fish breeder as in insight to the discusting practices the Japanese take into whaling. I do warn you, it is sick, discusting, disturbing and very upsetting.
Dont get me wrong, I aint a hippie and go round preaching about how we should protect all of the earths living creatures, but this is totally cruel and inhumane and for what ?? a few snacks and afrodisiacs. Eat a packet of crisps and take a viagra for •••• sake.

I kid you not, if I was to post the videos of the 'cat juice' and dog slaughter that goes on in Korea (still) you WOULD beat the next korean you saw to death. It made me cry alot. Seriously
I have no problem with people eating whatever animal they want provided they do it humanely.

Yeah most likely. I just finished watching the dolphin video, That is nasty stuff, i dunno how they can kill them the way they do. If there gonna have to die, id rather see them get a gun and shot them instead of making them die so slowly.

You're right that is racist. VERY racist. If you did that you would be without a fairly large number of creature comforts you take for granted as well.
I dont have a problem with Japanese/Otheranese people using any animal/mammal/fish for commodities and food. HOWEVER i do think a more tactile approach is required.
Rather than using up natural resources (ie, wild animals) how about creating farms where the perfect catch can be produced. Rather than slaughtering the animals whilst half alive how about coming up with a more efficient way of "knocking them out" ?
Beef is a perfect example. They are grown in fields specifically to produce meat their whole lives. At the end of their lives the cows are taken to a slaughter factory and shot in the head with a nailgun or something, which immediately and through all estimates painlessly puts the animal down. I wont deny that the operating conditions of your typical beef-house is perfect, as i have heard many reports of how one animal will see another animal put down which induces all kinds of endorphins to tense up the meat and make it Coles grade.

I think this video is typical PETA propaganda. The so called 'hacking to death' is the simple preocess of bleeding an animal to death. Just like our local pig hunters in Australia do. The writhing and flipping out is freaky to watch, but the brain is already dead. As a hunter, I can tell you, the bigger the animal, the bigger the gushing of blood and the longer the time it takes to bleed. Schoolchildren? Come on, there was like ONE faceless person carrying a bag of some description, with what sounds like multiple childrens voices ad-libbed in. Thats crap. The rest of the video is made up of footage of blood being washed out to see. Very propaganda. Ooh coincedence, Phoenix is a member of PETA......fkn hippies. Its not up to us to tell people what they can or cant eat. If people want to eat dolphins, thats their choice. Personally, I'll pass. Also, remember that like whaling villages, these are represented by 2 towns out fo the entire Japanese peninsular. This is not commonplace, nor is it commonly supported. Most japanese people dont eat whale. Most Japanese people dont eat dolphin. How old is that bloody footage anyway?
Much much worse than this, is the way Korea prepares animals for the dining table. Wild cats are caught, placed in hessian bags, then smashed against a brick wall and floor until they are pulverised. Often this takes several attempts. Domesticated cats are caught, and whilst ALIVE, are placed into boiling cauldrons along with flavorings. I watched a video where a scalded kitten managed to crawl out, its skin falling off, and the 'cook' then used the paddle to force it back in, and then held its head under in the boiling mixture. Hundreds of cats go into each cauldron. Afterwards, the mixture is blended up to make a special 'Cat juice'. Now that is worth petitioning against.
Dogs in Korea, are strung up around their necks, (strangling them) and beaten to death slowly, in an attempt to get as much adrenalin generated as possible. The beating by several men with poles takes up to ten minutes before the dog is dead. The dog pisses and ••••• itself in the process. Other times, the dog is placed in a bag, and beaten to death with poles in an attempt to again increse the adrenalin. Why?
If a korean man gets an erection whilst eating the meat, it is said to give him incresed 'vitality' and longer life.

Thankfully, I also chose not to view the video. As I saw a number of similar things on my visit to Vietnam I don't need to see anything like it again. However, I do not automatically inculcate every individual who happens to be Asian. They may well think ill of us for some of our practices.
