| Who cares. Get em all. That way you never have to check anything at the video shop. The average age of a console buyer now is 28. Consoles are being sold to people who don't live with their parents, and don't care about waiting 6 months til it drops a lousy hundred bucks. Anyone who bets against Sony eventually winning is nuts. People said this about the PS2 - oh, the xbox is coming, and sega has that thing, and the nintendo - oh the nintendo! And look what happened. They still sell truckloads of PS2s every month. PS3 is now starting to catch up. Latest figures: 360: 10.8M Wii: 5.2M PS3: 2.3M By the end of this year I reckon PS3 will be way out in front. Nobody's buying 360s any more. Don't get me wrong, I own a 360 too and I think it's OK. But it doesn't come with HDMI or HDDVD, the games are almost all native 720 and probably always will be, it's noisy as hell, the component output doesn't even output proper 1080p that my projector can recognise, they released it with a 20GB HDD, and most weeks it sits idle waiting for a new game to come out. That and the genuine accessories SUCK. Their rechargeable batteries last about 3 months before they don't recharge right any more. Sony started slow but they know how to win. |

| I woudln't worry about having a separate drive for HD-DVD and Blueray, surely there will be a unit released soon that will play all formats, just will take time. |

| Yeah but 360 + HDDVD is almost the price of ps3, without HDMI and HDDVD doesnt look like its winning in the US. Havent looked lately tho. |

| The build quality on the latest 360's is a bit frightening. Microsoft seem to be pushing the outsourced manufacturers too hard to get costs down. One advantage of a release run PS3 is they are built to a standard in Japan not to a contract price that is dropping 10% per quarter in China. I know over time this may all change but Sony have learnt the hard way that reliability is important in first adopter sales otherwise the word of mouth can be catastrophic. My 9 year old thinks her PS3 is "excellent", I'm just glad the fan is quiet and it plays Sonic the Hedgehog without issues. She also like Motor Storm which while more realistic than Mario Cart on her Nintendo DS is probably not the best driver training I've seen. At least I have seven years before she wants the keys to the Active.

The porn industry has apparently selected HD-DVD as it's format of choice. The same thing happened back in the old days when they chose VHS, look how good VHS did. hehehe. |

| porn has already been printed on blu ray. and before you say "oh but but sony arent allowing it zomg!" thats not true, they simply arent supporting the fact that its on there. they arent preventing it from happening and back when VHS and betamax was around, high speed internet wasnt as abundant as it is now i dont see porn having much of an influence on the winner of this war edit: anyhow, here is just one company going with blu ray, LOS ANGELES — U.S. adult film maker Digital Playground on Thursday said it will throw its support behind Sony Corp.'s (SNE) high definition Blu-ray format, adding spice to the multibillion-dollar standards war raging in Hollywood. and there are more |

| Clearly I was joking noob haha, I don't know much about both Blu-Ray and HD DVD except that it'll take time to decide a clear winner. PS: Xbox > Nayr |

| Hmmm, don't know about you guys, I have only ever seen pron on VHS (or DVD) for that matter, rented from a video store when we were away from home. Must have been the titles we borrowed coz they all sucked! None of the five movies were real, all simulated. Give me the internet realism anyday!!! Oh and yeah, Nayr's got a point, pron is not going to be the decisive factor... |
