I think he said PS. From the looks of the belts, there's a pump down there. Doesn't matter if it isn't though, most of my cars aren't. Spoke to a guy a while ago with a coupe.. must have been about 70 or 71 with a 427 iron big block in it. No power brakes and no power steering. I asked him how it is to steer. His response "handles fine, light as a feather. drive it in a straight line - it's a muscle car". Back in the day, you were a bit of a pussy with any or all of PB, PS or AC. Useless weight they called it.

Thanks mate, the old man's vettes put it to shame though. Was considering a 67 GTO convertible but the seller didn't seem very motivated in returning my calls. Looked at a 69 Camaro convertible after that but it was a little rusty. The 442 is a fine piece of steel. One heckuva muscle car. What would blow my mind is a 70 Cuda. If I could get my hands on one of those I could die a happy man. I think this will be the last one for a while. Thinning the herd a little and gonna sell most if not all by this time next year. Gonna need the capital.

NICE Buy, Miles. A Stingray was next in line after a Mustang in my books; i am jealous, in a good way! ;)

Cuda's, challengers and chargers (US of course) are pulling ungodly sums of money (nearly as much as they cost to keep fuel in 'em). Very tough miles. Who needs power steer when you can change direction with a prod of the right foot? "Wrap your ass in fibreglass - Chevrolette, the heartbeat of America"

383 would have to do mate, convertible hemis start at 200k and go up FAST. I'll probably never be able to justify spending what they'll cost at the time Now I just have to get myself an orange satin shirt and a brown and blue striped suit. Possibly grow my hair long, get some dark shades and a big mo.

MIles that is one Awsome Corvette you have got yourself there bud. I have always had a soft spot for the Stingray since i was 13 and went in my mates brothers Small block 72 auto .... But he got rid of that for a 1976 Trans am with the 403 engine in it. Ad then got a 1979 Silver anniversary Big Block trans am... I think the bug hit him hard! Then an 86 Iroc Z28, the list went on from then!

Hahaha all good suggestions, I'm definitely taking notes. I'll try and post a pic of the old man's vettes tonight. He's now got two convertibles, couple years older than that. Both with side pipes, both with chrome bumpers front AND rear, both with hard and soft tops. They're way cooler than mine.. seriously fantastic cars. One in a kind of a brick red, the other in primer at the moment, but we'll be pulling the body off and sending it out to be done fire engine red while we do the frame, suspension, steering and motor.
