| Can you beat 15gig (from a 56.6k DIALUP connection... This was getting 5.6kb/sec average 24/7 without down time for dial-in again. Best I could do was 7y00mb/day with that, and this was years ago. Now days I dont have enough storage to bother trying that again. B. |

| I remember 'telnet', when a 9600 modem was awesome! I think I onwned a 9600, a 14.4 and a 28.8 at some stage. I would have been maybe 10-12 at the time I think? Older brothers left over uni junks.. I still have them in a box along with all my old school VESA cards, 286/386/486 boards, 512k ram sticks, 4MB HDD's ....hehe. Pity I threw out the power supply, I still have the original Win 3.1x floppys. Would love to build one just for retro junk, and power it up! Maybe play Stunts, Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle or some other hardcore EGA graphic games. YEAH! POOOOWWAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! |

| Aaron, I think I still have a 2400 baud modem in the shed. Was only ever good for messing about on the BBS and little else hehe. I recently built a beastly DX4 100 for a mate (hes a retro nutter), Win 3.1 (Quick-Menu ftw!). The mongrel will boot up and be playing X-Wing before my machine even looks like getting into XP haha. |

I'm on the Bigpond Liberty plan but they forgot to cap me at 12gig last month so I managed to get a heap of anime that I'd been meaning to get for a while. |

That's the problem, Clock speeds have come a long way since then, but really storage speeds haven't! That and software developer's like microsoft are slowly but surely changing there software into bloatware. |

It isn't so bad. I do a lot of online gaming on the gamearena servers, which are unmetered for Bigpond customers, so I probably would use another 20-30gig there per month. With just general surfing and a little downloading here and there, I usually sit quite comfortably under the limit. However, not being capped is a great thing as well. |
