Yeah I got mine done from Mr. Windscreen you can... in Preston and what started from $230 fitted, ended up costing me I think 290 or just over 300, cause apparently he had to do this and that... Then again I am happy with the job he has performed, although not very professional...bumped my car into the tow bar of the jeep in front of my car, then denied the whole thing, despite the fact that when you lined them up they were a perfect match, got my money for it though. SO I think to sum it up, stick with either O'Brien or Instant Windscreens

P.S. The reason why I am replacing said w'screen is that when baby was in the shop having the exhaust enhanced, the guy was grinding metal and hot filings sprayed onto the w'screen and burnt little marks [tsk tsk ] and he is paying for it to be replaced. Interestingly the bonnet paint wasn't damaged - testimony to a good original Japanese paint job perhaps.

Just wanted to voice my utter distaste and overall concern about the quality of "service" these days. EVERYWHERE. I would say that MOST of us would have experienced this or have heard of a story of a similar incident. Nowadays you take your car into a shop for work done and it comes back with a "bonus" scratch or dent. Nothing you can do about it other than be there the whole time and watch them like an eagle.

I will now look for places that have uncluttered workshops that are clean and professional looking. Even then you'd be pushing the proverbial uphill to be sure nothing happens. Or D.I.Y. where and when and where possible....grumble mumble grumble.

P.S. I'll need to take extra care with my other car:

I hear that Earl.

Anything relating to the mechanics of my car goes through a single mechanic i trust now. If he needs to outsource it he gives me the choice of going to the people directly to save money or he will manage it. Since experiences with aircon repair i now get him to oversee all of it as i can be confident he will ensure a good quality service overall.

Lol, aint that the truth?!?

My boss has a HSV Grange and it came out of the panel beaters with a bigger scratch on the bumper than the one on the door that it was sent there to fix!

Not tightening the clamp on the inlet pipe led to steel wheel turbo destruction, luckily they accepted the damage and gave compensation!! And when my intercooler got fitted the top of my bumper bar looked like it was dragged on the road, unbelievable.
