I dont know why people have it in so badly for MS.

If they have bought the tech or hired the guys behind it then good on them, i would love to see this type of technology polished and made available publicly.

The ideas been around for at least 20 years according to Wikipedia. Microsoft are at least providing some useful applications for it.

Varies from person to person, some hate it because they have had bad experiences, some for ethical reasons.

For me it's both. Products released from this company have bugged the crap out of me for a long time, just simple things like this week we moved off our domain onto eDirectory with NSS and had a whole heap of problems because Office 2k3 on some machines were storing full UNC paths in documents (eg. \\servername\share\document.doc) oh and don't get me started on linked documents! Then there is ethical reasons like DRM and vendor lock-in.

The customer has gone from being a consumer to being a consumable.
