Hi everyone, Just updating again. been here for 5 months now, and what can i say. It's an amazing place, but could i live here the rest of my life? No. I miss home, the space and lots of it, and a few other things like family and friends. Also miss driving too
I will start to post some pics up on the forum about everyday life in Japan in the next few days, just so those of you who want to know what its like can see what "Japan" is "really" like, not what you read about in the papers or watch on TV.
added a few more entries but nothing major has been going on. Except for the huge earthquake (magnitude of around 5 i think or higher) we had last month, nobody was injured. Also the Typhoons we have had in the last week or two.
Ummmm.. thats about it. but stay tuned for pictures and updates ok...

They dont have every car they made, they got a lot of the new cars on display and one or two old cars. I was kinda hoping the same thing before i got there. They are really into the small vans and smart cars and such.. nothing of interest to me though. Maybe there is another Toyota museum that i dont know about.

JGTC Supra's, excellent, I really wish we had a leg of that race in Australia, simply because of the amount of different manufacturer's in the line up, Porche, BMW, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Lambourghini, Mclaren, Corvette...over here we have (drum roll)....Ford v's Holden, and nobody else can jon the bloody race incase they win 'cause that means Ford or Holden may lose a sale or two, e.g. '92 '93 Skyline GTR debacle. Hell, I havent watched a V8 race for about 10 years, it's just boring to me, you know the winner is one of 2 cars, if they let a magna enter the line up i'd be interested to watch again, but until them ZZZZZzzzzzzzz.

Someone or rather has been campaigning to get a round of the Super GT (formerly JGTC) held in Australia. I believe it was to be held in Perth, but its a long way off.
There was some talk several months ago (I think it was Drive.com.au?) about Toyota doing the Lexcen all over again by getting a Commodore platform, and then racing in the V8's series. All talk it seems..... heard nothing since.

I feel the same as Lam (i also live and work in Tokyo but miss NZ- am heading home in November)..Its kinda funny actually because we met the other week, both Soarer owners living in Tokyo and working for same company but didnt know it! Tokyo is good but I miss being able to drive places and see beautiful things on the way, having space, being able to go the beach without hundreds of other people there as well (granted, Japanese girls do look hot in a swimsuit).... When i get home im going to move to the dark side and buy an MR2 though

lol it was quite funny when we asked about our jobs at the car meet... hehe.. we've had a few typhoons and earthquakes hey?? guess you wont be getting them when you head back... those i definitely won't miss. My friend just told me that it was so boring and quite back in Melbourne compared to Tokyo, I'm a lil worried about that, life aint gonna be the same when we head back. Especially after living in a city whose population is nearly the same as all of Australia.
