Jewfish is also called Mulloway. We catch them on the beach at Stockton from time to time.

Can't be bothered arguing too much longer on this but... there is such a thing as a Jewfish.
There is nothing on that sign which indicates that it is specifically a Westralian Dhufish.
Jewfish is the family to which the Dhufish belongs to.

HEY THATS IN THE WHARF AT DARWIN! You should have taken the photo of the burger place next door to that one; CAMEL, BUFFALO, CROCODILE, GOANNA amongst other less than desirable types of schnitzel!
Aroud here, catching a 'jewy' usually involves a bait caster reel/rod combo, some mullet or prawn/squid on a J hook and an incoming tide if you are on land/bridge. Very sweet fish, frys easily but is great for steamed asian style (spring onions, soy, ginger and •••••
Average catch (for moi) is around 70cm |
