It says at the bottom of the document that Ford may release it in Australia in mid 2005, so it might be worth getting your mate to ask at Ford if he is interested.
If not, he can buy a GT40 (replica) from Roaring 40's which supply kits or sell complete cars. Phone number and information is in Unique Cars magazines. Turn Key cars start at around $120,000, but you can pretty much tell them what you want and they will make it the way you want it (i.e. supercharged EFI Ford engine, or old skool 427 that came in the 67, 68 and 69 Phase 2, 3 and 4. Phase 1 had a 351 and didn't win anything)

I recently spotted an F40 noisily doing 20km/h through a Swiss village. Two cars behind was an old black 250GT. In Zurich I practically lost count. Black 575 Maranellos were everywhere (or the same one was doing a lot of driving and parking) plus a few Modenas, an old 308 and any number of Porsche Carrera 4s or similarly expensive Mercedes in various models. I was not paying attention to the Audis as their styling cues are more subtle but I was quite surprised at the count of Jag XKRs. I did not think they were that popular. Also spotted a BMW M5 V10 on the last day.
You know, not one of the drivers suddenly pulled over and invited me to drive their car. Some people!

I spent a lot of time checking out the SL65AMG at the Sydney Motor Show. Couldn't not notice the 1000NM torque figure on the windscreen sticker, closely followed by the price tag.
