I note the comments above about my post. Nothing that has been written changes my view that this is a totally inappropriate thread to have on this site, which is predominantly about the cars we love. I am not going to make any further comment. Where's the door???? |

What I suggest to you is that you change your post to edit in "underage girls" wherever you have used a reference to women or girls or other terms. You might then understand what the issue is..... regards Peter |

I have to agree with you there Peter.
Something I read somewhere when I signed up and perused the site for a while was "If you wouldn't show your boss, or yuor grandparents wouldn't be proud, maybe it shouldn't be written".
I know my boss would love this thread, but my grandparents would definately be on the unhappy side of the posters.
I do ahve to say though, that this thread is on level with the eye candy, and although I personally dont mind the thread, I would like to know if it's viewable without being logged in, because maybe the lounges (Off topic and cruises) should be members only viewable, and it would mean we can be a little more relaxed in these areas without 'advertising' the content.

Peter, if you have an issue with "underage girls", that's fine, I have an issue with it as well. I note that an image was removed because of that. Well and good. What I also note is that right now, in the bottom right hand of the screen, is a photo of a woman's posterior appearing to have a rather decent amount of swimwear riding up between her cheeks. I rate that particular photo as about the same as photo's in this thread. If the model is underage, that's a problem. If not, well, no problem really. Please note that I am in no way advocating any form of child pornography/abuse, and if these photos are such an issue, then the answer is simple. Just Don't Look. |

I'm afraid the issue is not whether I look or not, it's whether the material is constructed or not.....and whether it is displayed on a site that I (wrongly) expect to have some level of decent taste filters on it |

I dont see an issue with this sort of thread (correct me if I am wrong here) being in a section which is clearly titled as OFF TOPIC.
The site is a Car related site, more specifically, about Soarers with other cars that are very closely matched being added as well.
Now, the section where this stuff is located in is titled "Off topic".
I do have a big issue if the site starts to display pictures of underaged models, but that isn't happening, so at the moment all good.
I do think, however, that we should only have these areas accessable by signed in members, not the general browsers.

Luke, sure and I do agree.
My point though is that to some of us it sorta is like acting just the opposite of grown ups.. Some of the comments are very grade 7 and just give a bit of an immature taste to the board that doesn't really seem desirable to me. Plus to others (particularly women I'd say) it could have the effect of making them feel uncomfortable?
I'm not threatened by it or anything.. I just don't really see the point? I've seen more than a few vaginas in the past. And guys sharing porn has always sorta creeped me out.
No biggie though, just my thoughts. |

Peter, I'm not sure if it's your wife telling you to write this or not, but come on, this is 95% bloke forum, you should expect "blokey" behaviour such as this once in a while. If you do not want to be part of it, then don't click on the link. Simple!
P.S. By all means I'm not saying ladies aren't welcome here, not at all (in case some knob mis-interprets me, again), but statistically if you have that many males in a room, you're bound to get that.

Well I've always figured that a group of people of one gender gathering together doesn't need to result in a discussion of the other gender's genitalia, but hey.. I guess we just have different expectations. Possibly some of us aspire to "blokey" behaviour and others don't. In the end it's up to the forum moderators to set the tone of how they want to the forum to generally appear, and I guess that is "blokey". To me that's a synonym for immature, but to each their own. |

Yeah I have. I've been to strip joints in my time, but I've grown out of it. Ya know, looking at a naked girl and sniggering.. it just gets a bit old.
Look I'm not stressed by this stuff or anything. I just think it's not really required. We're here to discuss cars, but I know there will be general banter of course.. Just these flange jokes and so on.. well I'm a member of a bunch of different forums on cars and motorbikes and there is occasionally a girly picture or joke, but it doesn't really get to the sophomoric level, ya know? And it just doesn't make a great impression for the board as a whole. And there's the point that maybe it does offend some of the female readership. That's their problem? Don't read it? yeah well sure, but that's losing readers who are interested in the primary subject matter (Soarers), and that's bad, yeah?
Only IMHO of course, and it's not my board. I'm not openly protesting or anything, just expressing a point of view that maybe we could be a little more mature? No? OK then. |

Well, I havent been to a bucksnight for good two years, strip club for good 5. Meh, not paying for something I can see at home if you know what I mean. But I'm not gonna deny that it is not an appropriate bloke behaviour. But it's good to have a boy's night out sometimes, of the mre exotic variety, rather than sit there, smoke cigars, and discuss politics 
I've seen forums where they literally post soft pron, and it's got one dedicated thread for that. Not exactly losing any members over there over that (plenty of female members on it), or changing the public image of the forum, not at all. I doubt this one single thread will cause people to spit a dummy. I say, be mature about it, and let it go. No? OK then. |

My PERSONAL reaction is: I see nothing wrong with what's been posted on here.................I take it for what I think it is, namely: Light hearted, tongue in cheek humor.
Sure, some folks will get PO'd about it, BUT a lot of folks won't really give a rats!!
It's NOT like it's THAT big a deal (as far as I am concerned).
