Morgs, judging from our lengthy conversation about this, my advice to you (as harsh as it may be) is cut and run. Cuz I think we both know you have a taste in your mouth for something else, and that kinda thing doesn't just go away.

You may get there Chris, I thought girls were only good for looking at when I was that age. You never know, you may come home on your birthday and have a special present waiting for you.

^^^ just be aware that whilst it may *seem* "like a good idea at the time", you both need to go into this with everything clearly established between you two, and also with the third party, or it may prove to create a lot of (possibly insurmountable) issues later on......
been there once, and it created more issues than it was worth, combination of too young/immature (two 18 yr old best friends) and not having everything clearly established both between me and her, and between her and her best friend...the friendship was lost over it, and it created a lot of issues that eventually contributed to her and i breaking up.
would i do it again - probably not.....well, possibly, but only after a LOT of careful consideration and discussion (if in a serious/meaningful r/ship).
but as a casual no-strings thing where everyone is clear on where they stand - of course!!
