Wondering if anyone has dealt with them, any experiences etc etc. Also, considering that they supposedly do not allow vehicles to be taken to another site for inspection, how can I go about getting a compression test done as no on-site inspection company I know of would do it as their mobile service? The car has just been imported and complied. I suppose an independent inspection is still the way to go, considering the car has just been complied and is selling through a combined importer/complier/dealer?
State Roads seems to be the recommended one among the mobile services (Even they do not do compression test). Other recommendations? Common pitfalls to avoid while making a purchase that is a fresh import? (I have gone through auction sheet in Japanese and the importer's compliance papers - they are combined importers/compliers/dealers of their cars).
Recommendations, ideas would be much appreciated guys. Cheers! =)

Hi Tahmid,
I actually bought my soarer from Version one in Feb of last year.
I used a company called Trakonline (google them) who did the inspection for me. I at first thought it was dodgy as I had trak look at a private sellers soarer - which they told me had been in an accident. They then recommended me Version One as they had seen a good soarer in their garage.
I never had the car compression tested but the inspection was very thorough from Trak - no different to an NRMA inspection as I understand it.
In retrospect, i remember feeling pretty worried but once I saw the car for myself it was outstanding. I have had zero troubles (apart from a broken window regulator - which they repaired for me) and the car is excellent. I am still taking it to Version One for services and the owner - Sergei is very helpful albeit sometimes difficult to understand and can seem a bit curt as a result.
This is no way guarantees you wont get a dud but most of the cars they have seem to be very tidy and the premises and very organised, clean and overall they go to great lengths to explain everything in detail.
I absolutely love the car its been awesome from day one.

Tahmid, there are a number of member's cars for sale on this site (I assume you want a Soarer) - I would suggest looking at one of these known vehicles perhaps - they are at least known quantities, and I am pretty sure members would not object to a reasonable level of scrutiny. In addition, the prices you would pay here I am sure would be less than via a retailer.
My mate's Aristo (from there) broke down 8 hours after being handed the keys. It was eventually fixed (by another place) but they held no responsibility.

Thanks guys. Seems to be mixed experiences from this place. I am getting the car checked by an inspector from a performance shop that someone has recommended me to. The car is a series 2 supra TT auto as I am moving on after selling the V8. I will update on what happens. Cheers guys... keep the tips coming.
