I found this great calculator floating about in Hyperspace. Bookmark it; it could be useful in budgeting your next trip away, or keeping an eye on your running costs when you're short on cash.

Prayag, in the fiel for fuel price, dont put a decimal, put everything in cents.

So for $1.20, you need toput 120.

Try it, and see what happens.

A few weeks back i did some testing;

Averaged 10.59L/100kms with the factory tune and a highest of 9.8L/100kms with the Ultimate running an economy tune (O2 sensor bypassed).

Best overall economy per dollar on 98RON v-power or United 95 (ethanol blend), they're pretty much the same.
Best City economy per dollar on United 95 (ethanol blend).
Best Highway economy per dollar on 98RON v-power.
Worst economy per dollar on 91ron shell/bp/caltex/mobil fuel

All under the same conditions, mixed city / highway, occasional squirt.

The United discounted ULP is best around town per dollar. Per litre its not, but per dollar paid i get the best 'economy' doing my daily thing.

For performance, only 98RON BP will do and thats what i've blindly used for the past 4 years.

I always get it. Fuel costs too much in Bendigo, so I have to watch my driving a bit and use the Ethanol blend 95RON. I just get a $10 bottle of octane booster and tip a little in each time I fill up; I get more responsive acceleration and more kilometres to the litre than if I didn't.

A bottle of Octane booster lasts me 3 tanks, and doing it this way saves me about $20 each time I fill up!

lol @ 18 litres to the hundred.

I flat-towed a Mazda 6 MPS today due to needing to get it back to the service centre for some major engine repairs, and I got 25l/100kms, but I also did leave the car in the lower gears to use the engine to assist in speed control.

My last tank got me around 15L/100kms, so 18L/100kms with a big single doesn't sound too bad hahah

That's 12.5 L/100km per car. Doesn't sound too bad to me!

Was suprised at the little effort the Soarer used to tow with, taking off slow of course, but it was still powering off easily, very impressed.

You must flog the crap out of your car.

I got an average of 13-14L/100 last tank, but I didn't go out of town much at all. On the highway it's a dream... 10L/100km. Oh the beauty of an unmodified car.

Its how you drive it! Round town about 13.5-14L /100km and averaged 9.6L/100 on the freeway last trip:-) Not bad for a car that can run high 11's :-)

I can get as low as 9.45L/100kms or less highway, driving using cruise control form Ballina to Sydney, not once touching the Accelerator after the initial takeoff.

Still had 9 litres of fuel left when I got to Chatswood.

Cant argue that, from pretty much the NSW/Qld boarder to Sydney on 1 1 tank of fuel with enough left to do almost another hundred at the same rate of consumption, so I should have been able to get to Kiama.

That's the same as Goldcoast to Sydney, bloody good distance from 1 tank if you ask me :-)
