Hi,

I didn't know where to put this so I thought I might put it here. I'm looking to buy a Soarer at the moment and am finding it dificult to figure out which ad is which in the Cars for sale section of this forum. Would it be possible to maybe ask the people advertising to list their state in the subject line?

Cheers!

Charlie, their state is on the left just beneath their name on each post if that helps.

Also, some people are happy to buy interstate if the deal is right :-)

Yeah, I realise the state is in the post for most users but you can't tell from the main for sale forum (IE not inside any posts).. Also with a lot of the subjects sounding the same and it not listing the original poster I have to go through a few posts before I find the one I want again heh...

I would buy interstate if the price was right (have to factor in the whole getting it here and transferring rego and roadworthy etc etc) but would prefer to exhaust all options here first..

Or you can post something in that thread and have your profile set-up so that it shows your most recent posts. Most convenient if you use the forum from both work and home. Try not to spam the threads too much. Obvious downside of this method is it draws more attention to the item you're interested in.

I think it would be good if there could be a specific format for at least cars for sale. eg..

<state> -- <year> <model> <colour> <km's> <other>

So if i were to put my car up for sale...

WA -- 1992 JZZ30 Black 140,000kms, plenty of mods

Would be alot easier on the eyes for people browsing at least, and helps people when they cant think of what to put.

Of course doesnt have to be those exact things, but you get the idea ;D

A little effort goes a long way

Yeah, other sites such as boostcruising have templates setup to help people remember what they should list in an ad.. Instead of just "TT for sale"

Considering the problems we have trying to get people to 1) Not use SMS speak, 2) Stay on topic, 3) Use common sense and be courteous when posting, 4) Read the "rules" when posting for sale, I don't see that having a suggested format would make a lot of difference. :-(
