They produce the stuff in Venezuela and the government is (may have changed recently) socialist toward the Marxist end if the spectrum. I actually thought their petrol was free but perhaps that was to selected poor groups or I am misinformed. 17c is still absurd.

You can also use toluene for a cheaper boost. Though you don't want to breathe it as it may f**k you up. V8s can run perfectly well on regular unleaded without booster.

You can also use XYLENE which is 118 (RON+MON/2). Running a practically straight xylene and toluene mix with a little bit of acetone - i've seen some very good results.
But be prepared to pay $10-$18 a litre though.
Not recommended for long term use, both chemicals are on the list as possible carcinogens so wear gloves when handling.
