http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/05/18/haltech-gt-r-runs-11-1-124mph-in-stock-t?blog=4#more380

The only modification to the car is a piggyback ECU. The Haltech Interceptor is being used for boost, fuel and timing control.

Standard exhaust system, intake etc running on 98RON pump fuel.

Boost and tune = 11.1 with highest trap of 126mph.
From the factory they run 11.7-11.9 from reports i've seen.

Its made close to 490hp or around 365kw atw :-)

Haltech is now aiming for 10's. The major limitation in my opinion is the transmission which is reported to be nearing its limits at this power level.

Thats amazing.... WHo cares if its near its limits.....

$160,000 and spend what.. $5000? So for under $170,000 brand new you have a car which panws every other car - BUggatti ( they dont count tho, lol, not for 2mill)...

Factory launch control to!
Definitely loving the car, its a cracker in every respect.

Prayag, im under the impression the GTR uses a DSG style gearbox - 'Automated Manual' used in everything hipo these days.

In regards to tuning etc, the intake setup on these things (intake manifold, throttle bodies etc) is phenomenal. Very well designed just like the 89' RB26, probably with the same goals in mind. I've seen an air fuel ratio curve from this engine with std management and its safe to say Haltech have bumped the boost up more-so than tweaked current settings to push another 70-80kw from the thing.

The Haltech interceptor they've used has a boost controller so all up for the equipment you're looking at around $1000 retail, plus installation and tuning - so easily under $2000 for a low 11's pass. AFAIK you won't see many standalone solutions on these engines, flash tunes and piggybacked injection and fuel control maybe, but no complete standalone solutions for a long long time. All of the body dynamics are controller on-board which means it has to stay!

The thing that alludes me is how they managed to stick to emissions and make an exhaust solution which flows 600hp quietly... Technology has come a long way.

Good find mate! I love reading about stuff like this

I can't wait for some kind of a V-Spec model with carbon fibre everything and a few more ponies! Add a Haltech to that and it'll run a low 10.

The V Spec is rumoured to be losing 100-135kg's over the normal GTR and also a possible increase of 30-60hp and up to 70nm of torque....
