When I see my boss walking towards me I quite often use no.5. If you look annoyed and stressed out they won't come near you and ask stupid questions. It works more often than not.
Hahahhaa, I use number 1, 2 and 3 the most!!!! People are slowly catching on though. I always walk around with a binder file or two, stack of papers etc etc. My desk, even though is quite big, has stuff which I haven't touched for three weeks on it (I make sure I rearrange it though, don't want people to memorise their position.) The big pin board on the wall in my room has some big project planning timeline printouts stuck on it since I've started working here 7 months ago (from the previous person that occupied my room). It makes me look really busy in the near future from the casual observer (unless they come closer and read the details and say "Hey, I didn't know a tax accountant deals with systems development and implementation...", I give them the wink haha). Nothing beats an office job!

I love the in a meeting 2 hour lunch break one. LoL. Those where the days. Or the finger on the monitor to switch from the net into the companies system. Also going to the mail room and looking for an *important document* that takes a good 40 mins leading up to close.
It is funny because it took them 2 months to realise i had been taking off an hour early every day. I would just leave my jacket on the chair and leave my computer running with work open.
I guess it got sus though when i was away the next day LoL.
