I am possibly in the market for a 4WD Dual Cab style ute, like a Hilux or Navara or Triton. I would be interested in any advice or feedback on these vehicles from people who have owned them. What should I be looking for in terms of problems or issues with these? Any opinions on which are the better ones on the market etc. Any and all comments welcome.

My dad's always had dual cab utes, i heard the new tritons are good cars, but from past experiences the one's i've driven have been massive piles of sh1t. My pick of the new ones would be a new Hilux or a Ford Ranger. My uncle is driving a new Ranger at the moment and reckons its brilliant...
The Hilux or Navara are the front runners at this point. Judging by how many of them I see on the road versus the other makes they seem to be the most popular by far. Graham, that's about the first time I've ever heard anything positive about a Ssangyong vehicle of any type, interesting.
My biggest concern about this whole 4WD thing is that I may well have to sell the Soarer...

Your biggest decision will be petrol vs diesel. I've spent a lot of time behind the wheel of the following: Rodeo turbo diesel, Triton petrol and a Triton turbo diesel (in South Africa) and would probably recommend a Hilux petrol.

There is no real problems with any of their newer vehicles. As I say, they are worth a look. Just had the 10000 service today. So far it's been perfect!

Hilux is definately the leading choice at this stage. Speaking with people out and about they certainly stand out as the best. Now all I need to do is convince the Mrs to sell her Mazda 3 so I can keep the Soarer....
