Hey everyone I work at a road making company and this morning we had a little surprise 3 baby rabbits were found in the bitumen bin. I have claimed one and i really need a rabit hutch for the cute little bugger. So if anyone has one....

Hutches are pretty cheap if you have to buy one, and you might get one second hand if you look around. We sold ours after the rabbit hopped it.
On the other hand, if I were to join in the fun, I suggest parboiling in a stock with rosemary and salt followed by brisk frying in olive oil with a dash of butter. Grind fresh pepper over the top and serve with new potatoes and buttered beans.

Karen i would suggest you put a sign on the bin saying 'no rabbits'. Lucky you only got one as they tend to breed like...well like rabbits actually. I'd say go town to bunnings and buy some wood and chicken wire and build it yourself. lots of fun. definately dont eat it.

How big is it Karen? And is it a wild one?
I hate to inform you that the mortality rate for foundling wild bunnies is alarmingly high... look after it and you should be sweet. As for your hutch, find some plans on the net and buy the materials to make it. Surely you can make your old man do it, or your boyfriend/husband if you've got one!

I think its about 5-6 weeks old? Its not eating yet, but i think thats because hes in a box and been moved around a bit, and is stressed out.
I thought of making one, but wanted to see if anyone had a hutch laying around.
Yea its a little cotton tail i think. I have thought taking him to a wildlife rehab place, but i heard some of them dont care for rabbits. They feed them to the snakes and birds of prey that they are looking after..Its still a baby so should be young enough to tame.

An old bloke I lived near when I was a kid told me it doesn't matter how tame they are, if you put a wild rabbit on the ground outside it'll take off. They've always got that escape instinct apparently.. so if you want to keep the little tike, keep him safe!
Try going to the vet to find some diet replacement stuff... they have a range of products available for looking after sick/injured/dependent creatures. Kitten or puppy milk from the supermarket won't cut it, different lactose quantities and all the wrong nutrients.
Good luck with it. I might be all metal and ride motorbikes like a maniac, but I'm man enough to admit I like furry critters. In particular, our cat... who happens to be a moron: (old picture, we'd only had him a week or two then)
