Click the picture of the paperclip in the toolbar above the text field for a new post and select your image to upload =P It will stick it in the page like below. If its already hosted somewhere you will have to save the picture to your computer first.

I was hoping to post full sized pictures which I have hosted on my own space rather than have them resized. I would have thought, given that there's a check box specifically for enabling them, that html tags would work but there's a good chance that I'm not using it correctly.

What do you mean Mike? The image above that is done with the thumbnail is full size if you click on it.
The forum doesn't display full size in posts as it totally messes up the way things look and you end up having to scroll from side to side all the time.
