Hey guys thinking of getting a nissan 200sx next year and just wanted to know if anyone owns or has driven one to give me some positive or negative feedback about this car, any info will be great and also i would love to get supra instead but its hard to insure this car and where i work i can insure the s15 very cheaply.

Whatever you do if you ask nissansilvia.com for their opinion, take everything with a pinch of salt, or rather 2kg of it, best car in the world according to them.
How far are you looking to modify it? With just exhaust, half decent FMIC kit, fuel pump, EBC and computer you could easily nab a bit over 20kw at the wheels and high 12s

no really sure on mods probably just exhaust and intercooler at first but more interested in getting a newer car for a good price at the time, but if i do get one i will surely or hopefully have enough cash to start modding the beast after a while

Make sure if you do get one, get an import JDM one, they are like 170-180kw (from memory) and the Aussie spec ones are 147kw and terribly slow, I know, I've seen my mate race neck and neck with one in his VS V6 at Heathcote raceway last year.

Mmmm they are a very nice car, they would be the 2 door car I would go for if I was not after a Soarer.... be wonderful if they came with a 1UZFE.. Mmm.

Hey Jordan, I got 3 friends with S15's, 2 manual and 1 auto, all turbo and pretty much say they are decent cars apart from random interior trim rattles and noises the aircon sometimes make they seem to be alright cars, personally I wouldn't buy one, they're a bit of a mid life crisis car in my opinion, but I guess that doesn't really apply to you

i could probably still get away with insuring a sylvia version i can just say it is a 200sx
And the first accident, as soon as they realise it's not what they where told, the insurance will be null and void, and you wont get your money back, and you will be lucky if they dont claim you tried to defraud them.
S15's are very nice, very quick, and terrific 4 cylinders, the SR20 engine has a lot of potential, but a fuel pump, intercooler, Boost and ECU wont get you 200 Kw, this is a 4 cylinder after all, and you will be lucky to get 180, maybe 190 from that TOPS (I know, I owned one before getting the Soarer, invested EBC, larger turbocharger, front mount, ECU, exhaust system, and I was pushing 180KW).

Also you can tell by the year. You can only get Jap spec models from the years before they were sold in Oz (i think 1999-2001).
The Jap version has more power because of small exhaust, intake etc changes. Unless you keep the car stock it will have just as much power as a JDM with similar mods, as you will end up changing the stock parts on the JDM model anyway.
Although the JDM version has a cool factory boost guage moulded into the A-pillar.
