I am enjoying the new series with James Morrison, it's much better all round. Anyone else still watching it?

I watched about half last night so you could say I am, half-heartedly. This is more than I watched of any in the previous series, so they are on a roll.

"On a roll", more like a tumble I would have thought.
I think most of it is pathetic. All I want is Aussie cars being tested (including those I will never be able to afford), their performance data, maybe the celebrity thing and even testing some of the older vehicles i.e. Soarers V's Skylines for example.
But PLEASE, give me a break from the inane style of humour imposed on the audience which seems so contrived.
There you go. I'm complaining about their sense of humour which differs from mine and therefore becomes rubbish.

Watched for 10 mins then switched it off, load of crap. Long winded life story of the comedian guy(forgot his name)had no relevance at all.

Well I'm with Pen on this one - series 2 is MUCH better. Charlie Cox was, frankly, a terrible host. James Morrison is heaps better. And this season comes across far more casual and less forced than last year. I cringed all the way through season 1, but I quite enjoy season 2 so far.

Sorry, it STILL pales by comparison to the original. Mildly embarrasing, and I feel the hosts realise this.

I can't say Top Gear UK tests all that many affordable cars. Hell really couldn't care less about affordable cars, I can go see one of those any day of the week. That and how many times can you test an XR8 or HSV, really not a broad choice of true local cars in Australia.

It's an improvement over Season 1. And well the same occurred with Season 1 of Top Gear UK, the first few seasons were a little shaky till they found their feet. Remember the Car Salesmen guy? Yeah that section was lame, possibly a carry over from Top Gear original format (which was axed in the late 90's).

Personally I don't get quite as excited as Top Gear UK, but do have hopes for it's future. As much as I enjoy Top Gear UK, I do enjoy the local aspect of Top Gear AU, the Stars, the Scenery, the Places etc. I'm hardly ever left wondering or Googling who or what the heck they are talking about (Local Humour/Stars), which doesn't really detract from the entertainment value as Clarkson is a good interviewer and most of the humour doesn't require local knowledge.

Anyway I've rambled enough

I would say that the US version of Kath & Kim does a better job of the original than the Aussie version of Top Gear.

I am enjoying season 2 much more than the first for sure. The show is certainly making very positive steps in the right direction.

For those who are still expecting the Aussie version to be as entertaining as the UK one i think you need to lower your standards a little. Whilst it would be nice that SBS could deliver a show on par with the UK version i think we should just be happy that we even have a localised version to enjoy.

The directing, producing and camera work has all lifted a notch this season compared to last. The hosts are also doing a much better job in the sense that they are no longer trying to replicate the hose + two co-host setup of the UK model. Each of the three guys are starting to show their true colours.

I think it will be a couple of seasons still until i say that i am "looking forward" to the next episode but in the mean time i am enjoying some great locally produced content.

I think you are watching the wrong show.
