I am trying to determine if last nights effort WAS better, or do I just NEED it to be better. It all seemed a little less forced. Once again no factual information, nor solid opinions were delivered. More fluff than substance. The blond twit still needs a smack in the mouth though..

My two Bob's worth, Tooo many flashy camera changes (can't get a good view of the vehicle). Tooo many different Camera angles, (Director trying to be Trendy), And lastly the hosts are talking to bloody fast and are Acting (not being themselves)!!!

I thought it was no better than the first one, I lost interest half way through. Like others have said they need to be themselves and not copy or try to like Clarkson and co, otherwise I think they will be flogging a dead horse.

I watched a bit of episode 2 yesterday, I tried to see the good in it, but there is none, its all just false and an act. It has no genuine qualities like the UK Top Gear has making it totally uninteresting for me. Never again shall I waste my bandwidth or time viewing this version!

So we have a RHD GT40. Ah, that's great, but what is it powered by? What's the top speed? What is the 0-100 time? Does it predominantly oversteer? Not happy with the show yet, however I think it was a slight improvement on last weeks.

Is there any point trying to compare it to the UK version??? The UK lads are the more entertaining of the two - no doubt. It's an Aussie version and will always be different. "Good on em" I say.

I'm with Luke and all the others willing to give the show a chance, however there are many blaringly obvious things they should be doing such as what Mike said. The UK boys may not be as serious about road testing as shows like Fith Gear, however they still get some technical info out.

if the producers didnt think that the show wasnt going to be benchmarked against Top Gear Pom, then theyre delusional...they were always going to be on a hiding to nothing producing this tripe...and just because the Aussie version is always going to be 'different', it doesnt mean it has to be abysmal....id be surprised to see it run its 7 or 8 episode course...its THAT bad...

i thought the show was much better tonight i think however still too much gesticulating.I feel the camera angles are somewhat annoying as i think they are trying to be too fancy and are not focusing on the cars for as long enough.

For my 2 cents, the first episode didn't really grab me, but I decided to give the show a go anyway. Top Gear, with an Australian twist, whilst I agree it needs more twist, I'm not complaining. The reviews need a bit more tech info, but what I really enjoy is the "Celeb in a Bog Standard Car", I really think that's great. That's one thing really saves it for me, as quite often with the UK version I have no idea who they are interviewing. Where as I can relate with the Aussies, know what they are talking about and find out some interesting information. The other thing I think is pretty funny, is the blatant disregard for the brand new vehicles. Thrashing the crap out of them, smashing them up. The Astra lawn bowls last night, had me in stitches, smashing into each others cars, the way the bottomed out going down the ramp... couldn't think of a better use! At the end of the day, they'll never replace Clarkson, Hammond and May, Top Gear UK will always be on the top of my watch list, but I really hope Top Gear Australia finds it's place and persona, feeding me humour and info in the 8 month gap of no Top Gear UK!

Probably running low on tread by that stage! Although I must admit, considering the track was wet, I wasn't particularly impressed by the circle work. Done better nuts in ma crusty old diesel hilux! Probably Holden getting there knickers in a twist! Although did you see the marker post he took out on the Holden test track!

The Show is a complete embarressment. Why even bother with it. We can all watch and enjoy the UK version. The OZ one is crap. Do we need it? I don't think so. Would you watch an Aussie version of Seinfeld? When there is an existing classic that everyone can enjoy there doesn't seem much point in poorly copying it. I gave it a try but that experience is now time out of my life I will never get back.

In it's defence, I think last nights show was a definite improvement. At last they are giving some specs and some idea of how these cars perform. Yes, I think some of the antics are somewhat inane and may appeal to some of the child viewers, but it is getting better.

Go back and watch the first season of the UK Topgear. That was just as woeful, if not worse. Give the Aussie version a season or two to get a good 'fan base' and then as the fan base gets bigger, the budget gets bigger, and they'll start to do some of the more crazy things that the UK version does.

it is starting to grow on me, well I haven't missed an episode yet so I don't think it's that bad. I too enjoy the celeb bit, how about Shannon's run last night! There are other things I'd like to see on it but it's only early days. It's very simple really, if you don't like it/hate it, fine, don't watch it. I also want an R8

| COME ON, IT'S RUBBISH! Haha I'm sorry I just like to put my negative comments on it, but I do understand where you guys are coming from in giving it a chance which is fair enough... I still can't stand it however, even after looking at the most recent episode. It's just not for me simply put! If others like it good on them! Just means I won't be watching it!
