This post started as a dedicated piss take at some poor bastard that is in need of glasses, or reads Braile and his fingers haven't yet developed! So, it could all be true, or all false, or one half could be true and not the other. My principle though, is that everyone is entitled to their own life and their own view of what they like, or for what they have to settle. Joking about it is one thing; non-stop bashing is another. Miles expressed this with less ceremony.
My own prejudice is against people who can not reason about evidence or ethics. I quote Voltaire on this forum but elsewhere I have quoted Bertrand Russell, who is probably more apt for this one:

I believe the original girlfriend post was by a user called GPx. I believe the guy who killed himself was a different user by the name of Mr Biggs? I believe the girlfriend post was in fact a prank, with some shots that GPx pulled from someone's myspace? I'm not entirely sure of any of this.
Burns, I'm not really sure how I'm "picking" at somebody by calling for a little humility toward the bodybuilder with the odd-to-the-rest-of-you quote. In fact I'd say the picking was done by the other party, wouldn't you? All I'm asking for is a little tolerance between people, when in fact the vast majority of people out there could make the same jokes at what users on this forum say.. if I see one more person call their car "my beast" I'm gonna puke. Seems like a lot of stone throwing from glass houses. You think the guys in the gym don't laugh at overweight undermuscled geeks chatting on the internet about cars? So what if the guy is a little passionate about his bodybuilding.
Also in regard to all the bodybuilders-not-getting-laid comments, yes I do go to the gym every day although I'm not so keen on it as to join forums about it. I have what most would consider a fairly decent car collection. My body or my cars, which one do you reckon has got me laid more?

Have to agree with Miles, there is nothing wrong with taking care of yourself - though I do it for strength & fitness & to keep my weight down, not for body building.
I also don't care enough about it to join a forum, but I can understand people who do get that passionate about it. |
