Today I went into town in my V8 Lexus (Soarer) and had a fresh muffin and a double shot flat white.
From there it was to pick up the plasma TV which was repaired for nothing as it was under warranty.
As all this made me a little tired I came home to read my Cosmos magazine and to check Soarer Central to see who was bagging me today.
I also had a call from a guy who may be interested in forming a blues band with me as part time vocalist and harp player.
Doesn't get any better than that does it? |

I'm assuming for you that 'Gay' is negative. So I guess you are saying that the majority of blues players are gay, like B.B.King, Matt Taylor, Garry Moore, Robben Ford, Little Walter, George Thorogood, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Thunderbirds, Backsliders, Johnny Winter, Sonny boy Williamson, John Lee Hooker etc. I could go on, but I think I make my point.
If you know of any of these guys, I think you will agree they do not come across as being gay.
My sense is, you know **** all about blues. |

Matt, How can you possibly criticise a musical era which was around well before you were even though of! (and will be still be popular for a long time to come)
Blues is the foundation for a lot of music today - but you are just a kid so I guess you can be forgiven as you don't know any better....... yet.
I suggest you wait until you are a little older than the car you drive before you offer up such negative, homophobic criticism - oh and check out the roots of your own music heroes as I think you will find most have a firm understanding of the blues - they aren't real musicians otherwise ;-/ |

I think you'll find Angerfist/Neophyte/Hixxy/s3rl/haze/weaver/sy/unkown/scottbrown/evil activites etc all have absolutely zero roots in blues. Simply due to the fact that all those artists i mentioned are EDM.
I'm not a fan of most types of rock or anything, closest i'd go is a bit of industrial.

So you think EDM doesn't have any roots in Blues??? Hah, you really have got a lot to learn about music. Have a look at the chord structures and phrasing and it is obvious to anyone that understands the subject - albeit a little more frantic than its ancestor. Ok if you like headbanging to relax to I suppose - I prefer something that requires a bit of thought and reflection ;-/ |

Yes Ryan, both 1 and 2. There arn't too many blues movies out there, but there is another which has a bit of a lame storyline, but still worth a look. It's called Crossroads, not to be confused with another film by the same name which has nothing to do with blues. |

Mike, that sounds pretty much like what I'd like to be doing today. Jump in my ride, coffee, newspaper, perv, then check on SC whilst sitting on the porch in the recliner, wait for the afternoon to arrive, hit the fishing charter for a couple of hours, fillet some jewfish and golden snappers, then back on the recliner for a few cold frothy ones.....watch the sun go down, ahhhhhh good life  |
