0-100 in 7 seconds or better for under $30,000 (used). What is there?
Is it the 3l Subaru, or 3.5l Skyline? There must be others.

This would be my shortlist:

Evo 6.5 *
Rx8
XR6T
Liberty Turbo (gen 4)
new MX5

* wont find a better handling stock car, no real need to modify either!

what are some other prerequesites for the car?

Or just buy a good TT!

Some interesting responses, although I believe some are less than 3l.
I wouldn't buy anything that requires it's guts to be revved out or that makes unseemly noises whilst in the process of gaining momentum. I like a little stealth and hidden agendas.
Quality is also very important to me. Yes I know, quality is subjective, but I think most agree the cars we are driving now are of a high standard.
One day we are all going to be looking for replacements and I thought this thread might help when that time comes.
BTW, I have no intensions of selling mine right now.

Adam, I already have a Soarer capable of these figures and I'm really enjoying it, but I'm simply looking to the future.

0-100 in 2 days

soarer rules!

YEAH!

seriously the soarer is heaps better than that pretend helicopter thing, i hate stoogerdoos..

but you seem to like them... so to have anything comparable to a soarer i thing your going to need to look at a 2.5L turbo as a minimum...

also i've had an awd as a daily car, and yeah safety bs aside, you can beat 2wd for it's ability to be far more efficient and much faster when moving and cheaper to run and maintain

and believe it or not better to drive when the road goes squiggly.... but when the road looks like spaghetti and in wet the awd can really help unless you like fish

subaru libery 3.0spec B
https://www.discountnewcars.com.au/review/2006/medium-passenger/subaru/liberty/subaru-liberty-3-0r-s pec-b-2411.aspx

8.2 for the auto

my clapped out soarer 4.0 auto + heaps of crap with no power to 3ooo rpm gets 7.4 on the gtech pro on 20's with full tank and 130kg worth of lard pilot and much more crap totally stock other than rear mufflers

damn soarer feels so slow but the numbers are faster than they should be...

i wish they had 6speed auto's in the soarers day, it'd fly with closer gearing, the 4.0 loves to rev... well mine does

you want quality, aussie taxis are cheap but also feel that way when driving them too

maybe 2nd hand cheap e55amg? lol

ok then maybenot e55 but c36 or c43 comes in under budget and both move quite well

What I would really like is a Lexus GS300 turbo (late model Aristo), 1998 or later. They do exist, but are pretty rare.

Supras interior isn't classy but its unique, the way the dash completely hugs the driver, makes you feel like your in a cockpit. I love it.

I used to always say my dream car would be a supra with soarer interior but after having both I have to say I take it back as the supras interior is very suited to the car your driving.

GS300 come out with factory turbo here in aust?

David, no the GS300 did not come out here in Australia with factory turbo. I can't say as I've ever seen the interior of Supra as it's not my kind of thing.
Ahhh, yes. The GS460, now you're talking. And no, it is nowhere near my limited budget.
