| But if you were big you could tear the dog's legs off and rip the door off its hinges. |

| The fast and agile dog would probably munch through half your lard before you can pull off such a maneuver and infect you with rabies. |

| Yeah, 5 or six small high protean meals per day is usual if you are trying to add muscle. |

| Well it's slowly working for Melanie too now. She's disparately trying to grow an arse haha. A personal trainer friend has given her diet tips (rather than just eating like a teenage boy, as that just made her full but she stayed the same weight) and given her some help with exercise and supplements. One bonus is that her great legs are even better now with the one legged squats n stuff she's doing. But after working her way up to 50kg, she's still a loooooooong way from having a booty haha. |

| There's nothing wrong with that. Be careful of the tipping point. I was skinny as a rake when younger. Couldn't put on weight very easily at all. I was like 65kg at 195cm. Once I got over about 85 though, I changed gears. Now I'm more like everyone else - have to be careful of the fat building up if I'm lazy. That doesn't happen very often because I exercise a lot but it can actually happen now. I topped out at 108 with a little fat but am now back to mid 90s as I can't train that hard any more (getting old). But yeah I do know that if I stopped exercising I would have a spare tyre.. unlike before I crossed the tipping point. |

Yeah woman, watch yourself. If you chub up you're out the door, and will only be allowed back in to cook n stuff. |

| Age has a lot to do with that too, especially the way it affects hormone levels. Older you get the harder it is to maintain a healthy weight. |

| I am finding it harder to keep the weight on as I get older. I weighed about 56kgs when I came to Aus, now I can't get above 50kg. But then I guess I wasn't into the gym and ate bad food when I was younger. Oh and beer, I had LOTS of beer |

I don't think that's entirely true! But then again it's certainly a factor along with good generic predisposition and habits. I just figrued I might report in and say I started in the Gym in january working out at home for so long at home since err august i think? Anyway I've gained no weight. I had gained 10kgs but because of uni exams i actually didn't exercise for three weeks and my eating habits died a little bit as i worried only about one thing. Anyway i gained 10kgs lost 10kgs and now i'm back to a flay 55kgs. Kind of a shame, but the last few weeks since then i've been going 3-5 times a week and figured I'll finally man up and invest in some protein powder. Currently my longest "run" has been 8kms at 12kph (machine was at 12.5-13kph) and ran that in just under 40minutes. I was training to be able to do 10km in under an hour but then as i said, started to worry about exams. Anyway, overall, I've gained fitness and i enjoy the gym. I can still run 6km's without slowing at 12.5kph roughly so i think i'm doing okay. I notice a lot how much good eating habits can really change how far you can run. Of course the mental battle is another one too. |

A lot of it has to do with lifestyle changes as you age too - Its definitely much harder once you have kids to maintain a balance of exercise and diet. Same with exam time I guess! :-) Running won't help with gaining weight of course, but as long as you enjoy it. I used to do a lot of cross country running and rogains which was great fun. I'll get back to it once my kids are a bit older. |
