So it seems after all these years that Top Gear have finally decided to reveal the identity of The Stig. Turns out it's Michael Schumaker, for the last few seasons anyhow. |

Damn I don't think that will be able to be beaten, even a v supercar wouldn't be able to match that! Killed the gumpert and only bettered by a f1 |

Damn that was fast, I could tell it was going to be a quick time, but was completely blown away when they wrote it up. Nearly 7 seconds quicker than the Gumpert! |

I thought it was pretty obvious that he isn't really the stig.
The only reason schumacher was there was because it was HIS FXX, and he was the only person allowed to drive it. |

ofcourse the FXX is like 7 seconds faster, FXX is a track only car..i wonder how it would go agaisnt an F1 car though |

Have they done a GTR yet I'm interested to see what it does I love the car, but enough with the porkies Nissan heavier less power and tq ain't going to beat a GT2 around the ring..... Unless the stig is the Nissan test driver... And Morgan Freeman is the porche test driver lol |

59.0 seconds flat, Ali. How is that for a difference over 1:10.7 on a short track?
The FXX is not road legal, by the way, so really the street record still stands with the Apollo.
Information I have supports what Matt said, that Michael Schumacher was the owner and driver of the FXX on test, and it makes sense. |

I thought that the requirement on the power laps was that it had to be "Road Practical" not necessaryly legal. The FXX did look like it could get over a speed hump... maybe |

Yeah it does seem a bit silly, since Ferrari won't even let you drive them on the road, even if you could get them stickered. You pays your millions and you basically become the driver and thats it - the car cannot be sold on without Ferrari approval, can only be used for Ferrari approved races, and must be maintained by Ferrari mechanics. Its just a way for rich powerful enthusiants who don't want to get their hands dirty to get a leg in to the racing scene. |

I've always assumed the Stig is played by a few different drivers, with who ever is available at the time filling in for the role. Which I still do..
Just seems too much of a stunt for schumacher to be the Stig.
Adds to the entertainment of it never the less! |
