You have the power to do exactly as you want with the press of a button. For example, wipe out all sharks on the planet, get rid of Mike B, etc. But there are also other people on earth who have been given the same powers but their wishes are different from yours. Will you press your button?

Mike, I don't see how whether I use my button or not will affect other people using theirs.
While I might be careful about making a choice that could come back and bite me, not everyone would, and only one stupid decision could pretty much make a mess of anything.
Picture an extremist making a "kill all infidels" button, it won't matter a hoot if someone else wipes out sharks or not.
So David's choice of destroy all other buttons is the only reasonably sane choice - by my standards.
