Hehe, todays reports put him closer and closer to Grech's statement being fabricated. Pity that Parliament takes a six week break; no more question time on ABC :-)

It may seem funny to the labor lovers but it is not just about a ute, The program that was to give money to the so called poor bloody used car rip off merchants was worth 2 Billion dollars!!. Laugh that one off when you have to pay higher tax's and fee's etc!! Or are you the few that where brought with the stimulus package, At least Judas was brought with pieces of silver not 900 or so dollars.

I still laugh at it all, in fact I laugh at most of what goes on in that fun house. Although I did score some k-rudd cash, I really didn't want it as it is blatently obvious that we will be royally ass fcuked in the coming years to pay it all back.

Labour or Liberal loving should not get in the way of facts, Bruce. $2Bn was not being given to used car dealers. Replacement credit was being arranged, both public and private, to replace the effectively identical finance previously offered by GE Money and a couple of other major lenders. There is some transfer of risk but in other respects no new economic expenditure. Finance over floating stock is normal behaviour in that industry, and in quite a few others which were not principally reliant on GE.

Aaron you remind me of my mother in law, A dyed in the wool labor supporter. When stumped on a discussion about politics she answered.. "I DON'T CARE WHAT LABOR DOES I WILL STILL VOTE FOR THEM". Or what about the old chestnut..LABORS FOR THE WORKING MAN AND THE LIB'S ARE FOR THE RICH...When was the last time you saw a bunch of Labor MPs who had got their hands dirty working?? (As opposed to getting their hands dirty with back room deals and backstabbing), Oh and while I'm at it Aaron I don't think there was any GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS last time the labor pigs had their nose in the trough, and don't forget the states who have lost everything under the labor spendathon,, Those who do not learn from the past are bound to repeat it!!

Bruce, you remind me of a guy named Bruce Passfield. A dyed in the wool liberal supporter who when stumped by a very clear explanation of what the govt was ACTUALLY doing to help car dealerships with replacement credit and risk transfer, would get his feathers ruffled and then huff and puff about Labor govts from 20 years ago......etcc etcc..

Repetition? We bow to your ability in that sphere Bruce. After all, changing nothing is what you do best. :-)

There is not much point accusing someone of discrediting others when all they did was satirise the fact that your argument comprises trying to discredit others.

Again.

Ad hominem; Straw man; Repetition.
I am aware of at least thirty other spurious forms of argument you might wish to try before you dare venture to a real one.

News of the day fellows...Rudd's used car mate has just been given the PRIVILEGE of being one of the few dealers to sell imported CHINESE cars in Australia, Seems these cars will undercut other Aussie cars by around $10'000. I wonder how the WORKERS on Aussie car production lines and dealerships feel about this?? It also states that the women who set up Rudds old company (A Chinese consultancy one) Is also the woman who set up Rudd's used car mates company!! Coincidence I think not...... David so what you are saying is I can bring up any argument and it will be spurious, (Nice word) There is nothing like an open mind (or in your case closed!!) and bloody oath I would have changed nothing, have a look at what has been changed and tell me it's been for the better!! (Unless of course you are in "THE CIRCLE OF TRUST" Old movie line).I look forward to the discrediting and personal attacks that are trademarks of the Labor faithful (Or should that be Blind Faithful)..

No, Bruce, I asked you to make a real argument rather than merely vilifying people or making up "facts" so you can attack them as if they were real.

As for no change, let us not worry about taking the vote from women, let us take it from you. Your life is to be controlled by whichever hereditary ruler or stronger usurper owns the land you are permitted to work. Happy with no change now?
How about we abolish that bastion of liberal freedoms, the Magna Carta, because it was produced by rebellion against the established order, by change?
Let us get modern and have Australia ruled directly by the British Parliament. You should be able to organise a plebiscite to get national support for that one.
Agree that the earth is the centre of the universe around which stars move in crystal spheres.
Re-introduce torture of possible heretics by the Catholic's Society of Jesus.
How many pages of examples of change opposed by conservatives would you like?

Finally, on your habit of reading headlines rather than whole articles in the news:
Chinese cars are being brought in by Australia's largest independent auto importing company, Ateco, which also brings in Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Citroen. Ateco have been in negotiations with Chinese companies since 2005 under commie bruvver Howard, and signed their first agreement in late 2008.

John Grant motors is just a reseller of manufacturer and distributor products, not an importer. He sells The Kia (South Korean) and will be one of 18 Queensland resellers who have been selected by Ateco, a staunchly private sector company.

Oh bugger! Another conspiracy disappears up its own fundament!

Oh, and stop the horseshit about "Labor faithful", Bruce. It is a perfect example of using labelling in lieu of argument.

I freely disclose that I have voted for both conservative and non-conservative parties at all levels of government, having changed vote more than once even within the last 20 years, based on what need I see for change at the time.

How about you? Ever switched vote, or more than once?

The vast majority of voters either have only one vote they ever give, or change once in their lives and never again.

Yep, I voted for Bob Hawke !! And thanks for confirming that Rudd's mate is going to sell chinese cars and that he is only one of 18 Australia wide yet you say I am making up facts!!, And why am I discredited for going back in time, yet you go back further than I ever have!! Me Thinks I smell a rat. you seem to know a lot about politics especially the Labor side, Thou does protest to much comrade David. In ref to voters only changing once and never again, that is part of my argument, They don't go on facts or reality they go on the old premises of "I've voted labor all my life, Labors for the woking man etc" Plus vested interests (minority groups pushing self interest)Or being bought for a few dollars. The way people should vote is, how will this effect my kid's future or how will this effect future generations !! LOOK PAST YOUR OWN SELFISH REASONS OR INGRAINED BIAS, AND VOTE FOR WHAT IS TRULY BEST FOR THE FUTURE. All labor is worried about is power and who is going to be the next emperor of the Labor dynasty. While us Coolies slave under the chosen ones.

Wrong again. I was going to ask you to try reading the words slowly but then I realised you probably think Queensland is Australia.

The rest of your polemic obfuscates again by taking characteristics which are entirely common to voters on both sides of politics and discussing them as if they were on only one side.

Meanwhile, I am not, and have never been, a member of any political party, nor do I work for nor promote the interests of any political party, associated group, lobby movement or any other set of evangelicals. Clear enough?

Wrong again, I hailed from NSW until I seen the light and moved to Qld, Labor was stuffing that state at the time (Nothing much has changed). I do apologise for my error (something that labor diehards can't seem to do). Please in future posts try to humor this poor old cross burning redneck and stick to words I understand (one syllable would be nice).I find if you stick to simple language everybody understands you, Not just the trendy left intellectual's who want to sound self important, You know the ones who laugh at their own jokes and use Pollie speak etc (God now I've used a big word intalexyoual). Anyway I think I've got it now..Your for labor and I'm for liberal and we could go on for ever. What does the rest of the great unwashed think?? Being a Liberal type of fellow I'm not against hearing other peoples opinions. Express your opinions now folks because if Chairman Rudd (That is if comrade Gillard has not sunk the knife in by then) gets his way and keeps selling us to china, this luxury will quickly disappear...For our own good of course.

P.S As I write this, the news in the background has just stated that another Ex Labor Qld minister is standing trial today because of corruption whilst in power. No doubt a poor misunderstood fellow who only took a loan off a mate because he could not survive on the dreadful salary and perks, us poor thick uneducated swill provide for them.(Or in Dave speak he took a high risk venture to maximize a monatary gain) Yet still in the background I hear faint voices saying "I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO,I WILL STILL VOTE FOR THEM..."

Hmm, as far as I can tell there is even less difference between the Australian Liberal and Labor parties than there is between the New Zealand National and Labour parties, which is a shade thinner than a pube hair.

That being said I generally support the right, because the NZ Labour party is certainly a pack of self serving, smarmy, unrealistic loud mouthed morons (of course National is only slightly better than this, but I pick the lesser of two evils)

Jesus (There you go Mr Hart.) bruce, they have Great Wall Motors selling in Darwin since last month. You may/may not have noticed that there are a of OTHER cheap cars that undercut australian cars by about 10k that have been on sale for decades.

You push the idea that people should only vote for the future and that cheap imported cars shouldnt be allowed in australia. What kind of fascist are you? Telling people what to think and how to vote? I will vote for whatever reason I see fit. I might vote specifically for my own self interests, as what I gain from it I can use for MY future generations. Labor OR Liberal. Or maybe Ill take a communist approach and vote for the country as a whole. Maybe Ill see the light and realise that the two big parties simply wont make the changes needed to get this country on the path to a clean environment, and vote for the greens.

What do I honestly care if GMH and Ford Australia go completely flat f*cking broke. Id dance in the street. We might actually have the ability to buy QUALITY cars minus the jacked up tax to protect our sh*t quality, over priced, under featured, gas guzzling sh*theaps that are basically funded by whatever govt is in power at the time.

Example: Ford BA 6cyl engine. 1960's technology. Heap of rattly Liberal govt basically gives Ford $.5bn through grants and tax breaks to keep it in production for another few years. Ooo, financial crisis: Ford dump workers and engine. Keeps money.

Id rather drive a chinese piece of sh*t than a ford ute.

But mostly Bruce, you seemed to have missed one of the original points. You assumed I was a 'dyed in the wool labor supporter' because I made fun of your mistake about the financial credit for car dealerships situation. You were bangning on (blah blahing if like) about 2bn being given to car dealerships, when it CLEARLY WASN'T, and when made aware of the situation, you brought up past labor mistakes, as if you were trying to say "oh okay, so labor the govt ISN'T giving away 2bn, but you know 20 years ago they did this and they did that"

Which is why I found it funny and aligned with your sentiments about me and your mother. In law.

"Sounds like no child in poverty, the recession we had to have"

Maybe it sounds also like "No GST and children overboard"

I haven't seen a labor politician get his hands dirty either. I haven't seen a liberal politician get his hands dirty ever.

Aaron, Take a serapax mate,
People, who would you vote for?. A bunch of M.P's. who are going to sell you to big business but leave you with a bit of money in the bank.

Or a bunch of M.P's who have been corrupt and caught being rock spiders and leave you bankrupt, before selling you down the drain to their Commie mates in China.(Proven History Folks). Remember voting is compulsory you have to pick one.

Ooh, gee, if that were the choice I would have to pick the first one, wouldn't I? Fortunately, straw men rarely stand for parliament, except in the eyes of straw voters, so we are allowed to choose after all.
Let's hear it for the Sun-Ripened Warm Tomato Party, or the Party, Party, Party Party, each of which I have had the opportunity to prefer.

I am compiling a list of corrupt Labor pollies who have been caught for wasting hard earned TAXPAYER'S money on FEEL GOOD ideas, GIVING IT TO LABOR MATES, SUCKING UP TO CHINA, LAND RIGHT'S FOR GAY WHALE GROUPS AND FAMILY FRIENDS, BEING CAUGHT OR CONVICTED WITH THEIR HAND IN THE JAR OR TOUCHING LITTLE KID'S PRIVATES!!. You know, just generally PISSING OUR HARD EARNED MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!! And taking us for IDIOTS (Aaron and David confirmed)!! But my brand new super computer "HAS RUN OUT OF MEMORY" (A bit like Aaron and David)!!And I'm waiting for another 100 reams of paper.
