Do you have a X or an L shaped wheel brace? If you have an L, slip a breaker pole over it.

I bought one of those battery powered rattle guns from Super Cheap Auto, did not cost a great deal, under fifty dollars, does the job and handy around the workshop

Get some Muscle bout ya ! Hehehe ...

Impact is what breaks the lock . Not strength . Best bet is to go down to the tyre shop and get them to undo them, and do them up yourself with your own wheel brace .

I had a similar issue years ago with a tyre shop . My brakes went through to metal, and i actually broke 2 studs and twisted my wheel brace . I drove ti down to the tyre shop, got them to remove the 3 remaining nuts, replace the broken studs and replace my twisted wheel brace free of charge . OH and they changed the pads for me too ...

Bloody apprentice used a 1 inch rattle gun when he did them up apparently !! Was using it on a trcuk in the bay next to mine, and assumed it was all good to use on my ford !

If you get stuck Ryan, im located in western sydney and have a 12v rattle gun i use all the time, id be happy to loan it to you.

I hate it when they use rattle guns to tighten up the wheel nuts! Technically you should use a torque wrench, but I've only ever been to one tyre shop that did!

All you can do is find someone stronger than you to do it for you, or use a leaver as suggested by Matchy.

Thanks for the help guys, Matchy's suggestion did the trick in the end. Found a pole to create a long leaver and then jumped on the end of that + added some WD40.

Cheers!

Yes, to my surprise it was Kmart auto here in Figtree, Wollongong.
The guys started to do the wheel nuts up with rattle gun, and as always, I pipe and express my disillusions about doing them up that way, and that I'll go around and do them by hand with my trusty tyre lever, and that's when to my amazement he pulled out his torque wrench and said that he hates it too, so he does them up with rattle gun loosely and then goes around with the torque wrench.
I undid one later and it was firm to undo, and came off easily....nice!!

yup, rattle gun to undo, rattle gun to spin em on, brace to tighten.

I have a 12v rattle gun, its brilliant. ~300ftlb of torque out of only a little motor, it uses momentum to do it, the thing will spin up freely, then clutch and deliver the 'impact' very clever.
