Just a thread to post good stuff that happens.
1) One of my cars got egged a couple of weeks back. A neighbour saw it happen, rang the cops with the car details and plate number, then brought over a bucket and washed the egg off.
How good is that? The cops cant do anything, but probably added the car to their nuisance database or whatever it's called.

2) My dear mum was visiting from the country, and my brother noticed one of her tyres was less than round, and pumped it up. The next day, I took mum and the car to Beaurepaires corner of Gouger and Morphett Street in the city (Adelaide).
The guy there promptly quoted $20 and could do it right away. So as we enjoyed free coffee from the machine, the car was hoisted, wheel and tyre removed, checked, refitted and balanced with a new valve etc.
Then the guy said there was no evidence of a puncture though the valve looked a bit rusty etc, so no charge!

That's so nice of your neighbour! were you targeted?
There was this guy who looked like he needed money (seriously - I don't get suckered into the ones that as money for 'bus tickets' etc). Anyways, gave him some coins, went into the 24/7 later, was short of money for my coke, guy gave it to me anyways. SCORE! hehe that's my good deed!

Two days ago I was chasing a 3 inch exhaust flange. No one was interested in such a small job (this town is full of mining mercenaries). I talk to one bloke (Peter Avery at Singleton Exhaust) and happened to mention it was for my track car...he got hold of the guy who cuts his flanges in Sydney, orders half a dozen on overnight freight and rings me back to say they will be here 9 AM next morning. Cost me $10 and he wouldn't let me contribute to freight.
Not really genuine 'good samaritan' deed, but it did help me out greatly. Same goes for the local wreckers- I think he just likes the updates on what I'm doing. He is always ready to help with parts, information, or just good old fashioned advice and wisdom.

Got given a headlight assembly by a kiwi (Mate of a mate kinda thing) so that i could go out on a cruise (Night) with them.
Ended up braking down about 1km from home, managed to push it home with the help of a few mates who were following in a skyline (Sadly didnt have a tow rope haha, would have made the process a bit less painfull...)
Commodore went past and yelled something along the lines of "Thats what you get for owning a rotary" (With a few profanitys thrown in)
So mate in skyline grabbed the megaphone and screams out "ATLEAST ITS NOT A F'ING COMMODORE"

The guys at Distinctive Car Imports and Joe Hollywood in Wangarra here in WA are always helping me out with suggestions and help with various car issues i encounter. Since i dont know as much about cars as i like to think i do, knowing that there are people i can truly rely on to give a professional opinion and great quality services is a significant comfort.
I always walk away without the feeling of being ripped after as well. Its great to find car related people you can trust =D

Thursday night i called the cops on my neighbor as he went out twice to do burnouts in the wet near our house and all down the street. The next day i got swiped on the freeway and ended up face first into a concrete wall at 75 km/h. Bad deeds for me

Yes, Neil is the man....let me tell you a warm and fuzzy.....I took our trusty 626 and trailer to the Mugga Lane tip to pick up a load of blue metal for a drop on my driveway... on the way home, lots of action at the rear, with the trailer taking control of the entire set up. Managed to stop without further incident -- found that one trailer tyre had entirely deflated... so, sitting there with my jack out and wondering if it could lift the lot.... a ute pulled up and 2 guys got out and asked if they could help.... they offloaded the blue metal from my trailer to theirs, they followed me home and then distributed the stuff where required, they declined any payment, including a beer, and went on their way.....hope they are around when I get stuck in the Simpson

Rang the cops after a Chinese student was bashed and robbed and stayed with him until cops came. In the time we waited i asked him everything i knew the cops would ask as his English wasnt great and so once the cops came i told them all the info. Stayed for about 2hours and then did a quick lap around the place looking for the people and did it. Really wanted to help them find the wankers as i had it when they prey on someone smaller then themselves. That and seeing as its a visitor from another country i had other people having a bad experience and making an impression of what Adelaide is like based on that experience. Didnt see the guys, dont know if the cops caught them or not.

saw 2 contractors outside of my work when i was leaving a few weeks ago with their 4wd bonnet popped up. drove past and asked them whats wrong, they said dead battery and had been waiting 2 hours for RACV to come, so i gave them a jumpstart and off they went.
im sure the RACV dude didnt appreciate getting to an empty carpark, but im sure nobody appreciated waiting over 2 hours for them to arrive either
