The top drag classes all use a multi stage clutch controlled by computers... no clutch pedal and no gear selection.
Wellll...technically they are controlled by a complicated system of pneumatics...and they do have a clutch pedal....and they have forward and reverse....just saying is all

while i like autos for daily driving, i prefer manual, it just my personal prefrance, and manuals can make even the most dull and boring cars more fun to drive, i have a bunky corrolla i drive to work, my mate has one too, both the same exept his is auto, an that thing is sooo slooow and guttless, couldnt peel the skin off a rice pudding, no fun. yet my corolla is 100 times as fun.....

All the manual converted v8s seem to go a long way to making a valid argument. How many people on a for sale thread go 'oh that manual tt would be perfect, if only it was an auto...'?

I dont know how anyone can say that the concept of a manual trans doesnt provide more control over the car.
All you fools who have ever driven a turbo'd car should appreciate knocking the drive selector on the auto trans from "D" to "2" when you want to power out of a corner!

They make a good argument of what exactly?
of being a more desirable transmission. Geez, take it easy. Sounds like you need to get rid of some energy (by changing gears perhaps).
Miles - you said: ' What's the point of doing a mundane job like changing gears 3000 times a day on the street when there is a machine to do it for you'
Yeah like walking, jogging? Sounds a little like Homer "and here I am using my own legs for nothing!' When he discovers an electric wheelchair.

manuals are to strengthen the muscles in your left arm to keep both arms equal due to all the wanking you do with your right arm...... unless your a left handed wanker...... then u probly gonna look like one of them crabs with one big an one small claw... hehehe

Am I not allowed to disagree with the page in the first post Adam?
Of all the sites I frequent, this has got to be full of the most closed minded people who have an absolute problem with anyone disagreeing with anything. Sheesh.
Sure, desirable, whatever. But I was disagreeing with the BS in the original post's link. Because it's a load of crap.
