Guess it'll be something to really think about if I ever do have a boy. Its very 50/50.

The other half of the equation might have a viewpoint too. :-)

Nina, nothing to think about. If you kids wants/needs to cut the end of his dick off then let him else don't. Infact you will prolly have a hard time finding a doctor that will do it at birth

By you're logic you should, you should cut your sons balls off because you know one day he is gonna get hit/kicked/wacked in the balls and by god that hurts.

No by my logic, there is a hereditary issue, that is solved by Circumcision.

Can you point me to the stats? I had a reasonable look through that site and most of the issues I can see, are either not really issues or solved by getting it done by a modern professional.

I'm not arc'ing up, but I surely am passionate about the issue. I've had it both ways, I think I have reasonable data to base my opinion on.

Leon, you didn't mention anything about a hereditary issue.. and my apologies for not asking. This too is another reason .. there are issues that run along the Y chromosome, but again this is far from common. I do have some stats .. but as it is such a fiery issues they are bolstered on both sides so anything I put forth will be countered pretty quickly.

It seems to be something that works for your family.

That being said, I am still of a very strong opinion that this is not a solution for many family and to do it to new born boys is barbaric, inhuman almost

Diagnosed medical problem: fine.
Social tradition: which society are you really in, and whom else is it all right to torture?

I apologise for the indulgence of quoting myself, but to argue medical procedures are now comparatively painless and risk-free is to miss the point in the same way a jumping elephant tends not to crash into the moon; quite a distance. There is no valid social reason.

If the improvement in process makes a medical decision less difficult then that is gratifying and I think it good, but it is also a different subject.
