I had no choice, I needed surgery in that area and thats what they had to do. Don't miss it 'cause I don't know any better, but I wouldn't do it, or let it be done to my son unless there was a medical reason for it like mine. |

In rare occasions forced circumcism is required I.E. Matthew Sharpe in the case.
But that is a rare and sometimes unneeded practice.
Other then the rare occasions of infection where the foreskin must be removed there are 2 reasons for it 1) Religion 2) Fashion
And both of those arguements are ••••••• nuts.
Again, "women love it" pfft BS, women will love what they are told to love. Its a really dangerous arguement because nearly all men who were mutalated take it as a society norm .. where today, it simply isn't, thats right boys and girls, ours was the last generation (out side of Jews and Yanks) that snipped off the end of a new born babys cock, without aneisthetic for no other reason then for looks.. when it looks the frikin same.

Yeah, It used to be an automatic procedure on all new born boys. Of course things have come along way since then.
To be honest its only really when you're going down on a guy or giving a hand job that you notice. In that instance its nicer done. But eh they work the same way. |

The foreskin is an increibly sensitibe area of the body .. it's not "just skin", it has special glads, increase sexual stimulation, proects your now etc. If you rubbed it the right way you'd get off, just lile a clit.
Of course they don't tell circumsized males this cos .. well.. how angry would you be?

It gets hard to discourage genital mutilation in Africa and the Middle East if we practise it routinely ourselves. It does not matter to change the gender of the victim, or the apparent severity (foreskin vs clitoris). That usually has more to do with what is currently accepted in the society than with reality, as Jol has so clearly pointed out.
Diagnosed medical problem: fine.
Social tradition: which society are you really in, and whom else is it all right to torture?

Interesting read, I have always been in favour of circumcision (I was done as a baby)and would normally have dismissed all the anti-circumcision people as not knowing what they are talking about. It's better to be done as a child rather then later in life. And a lot of men require it, especially when they are much much older (think 60s/70s) because of health reasons (explained to me by my urologist).
